Where To Get The 2Mm Foam For Seats?

Unfortunately as was so keen to rip the seats apart that I didn't take any photos. So after looking thru a couple of posts, have a few questions

1. Where to buy the 2mm foam and how much do you need? Clark's don't have anything this thin

2. Why the plastic over the headrests? Is it for ease of fitting

3. I don;t remember if the foam blocks are supposed to be glued to the seat back or not?

4. I ordered the foam from US, so want to know if the 2mm foam goes just at the back of the seat or around the entire seat?

5. Paste vs spray

6. KMart contact adhesive vs specialised automotive ( I believe its higher temp rating)

Sorry but if you ordered the foam insert from the US why do you need more foam?

I have these Gav, you do need to add a little foam onto the back rest just to soften it a little, they are like leaning against a wall without it, very hard.. yes the plastic is to help you get the covers on, I used cling wrap. you don't need any glue but you will need the "c" clips and the tool I got one from the garden centre at bunnings. prior to fitting put the covers out in the sun and get them hot they will stretch when nice and soft from the sun.

Clark Rubber does sell 2mm foam . Check blue foam on seat shoulder.

 

If your new foam mouldings are as hard as indicated by Linton I would use the thicker medium density foam to insulate as installed in my seats.

 

Consider 2mm too thin , my seats are very comfortable.

you can see the 2 mm foam in the photo above - its used whenever vinyl bare touches bare metal eg around the back and sides

dead end - i've tried dunlop foam and a couple of other places and 3mm is the thinnest. apparently there's slicing machine that slices the foam from a fat block

does anyone know a source either here or o.seas?
