260DET Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Need some advice on what is the best time of the year and if there might be any two day events, it's a long way to travel for a couple of runs on a day that may be rained out. I'd of course be bringing the 280ZX auto which should be all sorted by early 2016. Maybe we could have a Z group. Quote
hmd Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 PIARC usually have 2 days weekend on in Feb. Check their website out www.piarc.com.au 2016 calendar won't be out for a while yet. Quote
dat2kman Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Do the six hour! Nice big enduro type f sprint, Get two full days, excellent opportunity for the interstaters to play. Quote
hmd Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 depends on what you want to do, the 6hr is a regularity event and fastest time you could set was 1:55 and there are about 40+ cars on the track at the same time so it's very different to sprints, Quote
1600dave Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 (edited) 6 hour was a heap of fun, plenty of track time over 2 days with the added thrill of competition thrown in. Qld Z club team for 2016 event anyone ? I'd be in again for sure. Edited November 21, 2015 by 1600dave Quote
Gordo Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Hi Richard. The first Piarc sprint meet is on Feb 6--7 2016. Untimed laps and practice on Saturday, sometimes passangers ,and timed sprints on Sunday . No dates for there second sprint weekend, but will be March or April. Quote
260DET Posted November 21, 2015 Author Posted November 21, 2015 The six hour would be a great way to learn the circuit but that Feb 6-7 event sounds good. Does not leave much time to make sure the 280 is fully track ready, Morgan Park is closed until early 2016. Anyone know if there will be other two day sprint events? Quote
Cozza Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Do the six hour! Nice big enduro type f sprint, Get two full days, excellent opportunity for the interstaters to play. This sounds like a heap of fun, where can I find more info about the event? Quote
1600dave Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Here ! http://www.6hourrelay.com.au/ Quote
Cozza Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Thanks Dave I couldn't find any info about team size, any idea how many vehicles and/or drivers are allowed to a team? How hard is it to get into this event, sounds like it might be hard. Finally any idea on cost per vehicle/driver? Cheers Mick Quote
260DET Posted November 21, 2015 Author Posted November 21, 2015 While I think of it, can someone link me a pro driven in car video of PI? Have looked at Gordo's and Shinisha's which are very helpful as to lines, T2 in particular is of interest but a YouTube search has not thrown up anything of use. Quote
1600dave Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Mick - teams of 4(minimum) to 6(maximum), cost is (or was in 2012) $1650 per team, yes it is hard to get into (fills up pretty much as soon as entries are opened). Quote
