Peter Arcadipane operated a fibreglass business in Heidelberg Melbourne, for a while, he built up quite a few "concept" cars, including the panel vans, with same nose.

He also built up a one off Valiant Charger, in Diamond White with the two thick blue stripes, it was given the name "Cobba"

As a young fella i spent quite a few weekends there, often wet rubbing for paint.

The Mffat Federation Insurance cars, were rubbed back by yours truly.

 

Peter also did a couple of Leyland 4.4 litre, out to 5 litre P76's, in gloss black with gold pinstripe, in a mock JPS BMW look, they were called, Mike and Mal ( Leyland Brothers)

One had twin shot nitrous, and was sometimes seen at the illegal drags around Melbourne.

 

He did a one off front airdam and bootwing for my first car, a orange Datsun 1600

 

He lives in Germany, works for the auto industry in China.

Oh, and the XD Falcon,,,, he drew that up, based on the Euro Ford Granada!

Haha, The good Ol "MFP" number plates (main force patrol) but I bet the person behind the counter at Qld RTA had no idea what it really stands for..

Yep the Melb Uni underground carpark was used for the locatoon of the MFP workshop were they build the black interceptor.

Since we are on the topic this is a good replica built by a fan in the US of A.

Is it bothering anyone else that the paint is wrong? There's a few flat black sections that nearly everyone who builds a replica misses. The shiny black also isn't really that shiny, it's just not flat, so these really shiny cut paint cars just look wrong to me. Also exhaust tips nearly no one does correct either. People put them all straight and parallel, when the actual movie car they were on all sorts of angles and not even.

I bet there's only one replica in the world with the correct number of head light cover screws as well.

A friend of mine imported an XB/GT to Canada about 15 years ago to build a Last V8 Interceptor replica, complete with all "mistake" of the movie car, and switchable supercharger. He also got into the business of buying and selling the Scott injection injector hats to other Mad Max car replica builders.
