I've 2 here.

One is original, other has been modified for a race engine & has had the Vac advance removed.

Both are in good usable condition, with dizzy caps & E12 modules.

$150ea posted. PM me.

That is a good deal.

I just installed one and paid $140 but j had to pick it up myself.

Lurch o the rescue.

It would be so much harder to restore the Zs without this forum.

Does anyone know if you can source the vacuum advance diaphragm's easily? My car doesn't have a working 1 and so no vacuum advance.

As far as I understand it vacuum advance works right as you open throttle or stab the throttle / accelerate from cruising speed. In which case it's helpful for those minor increases in throttle on the street, but not needed at full noise correct?

Not quite. Vacuum advance actually retards the timing when you step on the throttle hard to avoid pre detonation. When you are light on the throttle (with lots of manifold vacuum) the vacuum advance kicks in advancing the timing significantly giving better fuel economy.

Gav I posted the location in the classified section some time back, the guys name is Mike Bushnell & he gave me to understand that if we mention our Forum site he will let us have them cheaper & yes you have to send your unit up to him. Mine cost me $55.00 back then & the new rplcmnt one is still working fine. He's up in Caboolture Qlnd.

                               Regards: Alan.

Thanks Alan, good to know I've got about 10 dud ones lying about in need of love. I might send them all up to him. Got a cottage industry to run and all that. :)
