Hello all,

Im just looking for all of the Sydney Z owners out there, I know this is the ZVic club, but I have seen a few posts from sydney based people.

Anyway, If someone has;t already before I came along, we should organise a meet and greet, bit of a drive, or a BBQ, or something like that

So if your in sydney, Post up you, your ride, and your general area (dont want exact addresses or anything for obvious reasons)

Hello all,

Im just looking for all of the Sydney Z owners out there, I know this is the ZVic club, but I have seen a few posts from sydney based people.

I'm confused as to why people still think this is strictly a Victorian based site? As far as I'm aware we are the largest most used resource in the country for Zcars. I know the name Viczcar could imply that we are Victorian but I deliberately placed "Australasian Zcar Resource" under the logo to let everyone know they are welcome.

We have considered changing the name to www.auszcar.com but at this stage that's alot of work on my behalf and I don't have the time to do it.

If people could please let me know where the confusion is perhaps I can help clear things up?

I think you just answered your own question. The VicZCar is the most prominent visual, despite the Australasian resource below it, not to mention the actual name. I don't think you will ever change that until you  do eventually change it to AusZCar. It would be the same as if you called it the DublinZCar versus IrelandZCar.

Yeah I guess I see your point. I just assumed that most people were now registering because its an Australian Z site and not because they thought it was a good Z site with some members from other parts of the country.

I am working toward getting the www.auszcar.com domain name to work with the site. I think that will be the first step. Then I will change the logo, but there's a considerable amount of work to go :( since so much of the site mentions Viczcar and that will all need to be changed.

Hey Herrods,

We have a section dedicated for each state for exactly this sort of thing, ie cruise and BBQ's in your particular area.

Have a read of this thread. It would be good tyo have someone in Sydeny to arrange the occasional cruise via the site and maybe post photos afterwoulds like we do in Vic. Read this thread when you get a chance.

Yes Gav, I'm afraid VICZCAR = Victoria in my mind and most others despite anything else. Until it changes to AUSZCAR or such most people will think the same. But threads like this will water down some readers perception.

Yeh, even I still think of it like that, mostly because it has mostly victorians on it.  But you have far exceeded yourself in working on the site and getting it where it is, so I say when YOUR ready Gav.

To answer the original question, I know George, ZD44TT and Anthony are all Sydney siders and I might be moving there from Canberra soon if I get the job I want.

Not trying to take business away from this site (even though the Sydney Zed site is way quieter than this one) but the Sydney Zed club do some good runs etc. I'm more active with Newcastle Zeds but have been on a run with the Sydney Zed guys and are a great bunch. Every now and then they get motivated to organise really good events. Maybe I could just forward them on to this site for info???

Well I am originally from Melbourne now living in Queensland, I rate that little state down south as the Zed Capital of Australia!!!!!

I almost salivate when I see just one other Zed on the road up here.

You can keep some of the people happy some of the time but not all of the people all of the time.

Go VicZcar!!!!!!!!!!!!!  8) Lynton

Hey Scott, the moment you typed the word "Sydney" your zed started to rust !!

That explains where all the rust in my rear guards came from doing the flares the other day :P

you got pics of your car in primer?

Posted

Believe it or not - in primer is a bit of an overstatement. That is to say the car was covered in primer when I bought it (and I havn't really stipped it back yet) - but the primer is covering god only knows.

I have noticed some parts where it looks like the previous owner has just sprayed primer onto the old paint & parts where he / she has slapped bog onto the chassis for no other reason than to smooth a seam - ie in the door sill, half the back end etc.

I will be taking some photos this week hopefully, and I will put together a bit of a blog. I have a doozy of a story to share about the trip to pick the old girl up.

In the mean time this is pretty much the best pikkie I have.

Cheers

Mick

Hi Mick,

Good idea to use this section of the forums, (Members Project(s) Journal), to get your progress thread or blog on the car as that is exactly why we have included this section. Just start a new thread and just keep building on it with progress pics etc!

I'm in Sydney, Hills District. Just got my 240Z registered this morning. I'd be interested in meeting up but my schedule usually works against me but if I see something I can make, I will.
