Hi - time to make an introduction thread!

I'm Brenton, 20 years old and been into Nissans since getting interested in cars. I've been a fan of the S30s since seeing/reading about them and for a few years a nice Z has always been in the back of my head as what i've termed my "realistic dream car". I lurked on the for sale section here, and on gumtree + car sales for the last few months, even briefly flirting with the idea of a 2+2 before pulling the trigger on the 260Z 2 seater Curtis had for sale.

I plan to keep it in good condition, sort out any little problems (maybe even the clock!) and potentially make some tasteful and ideally period correct and reversible modifications - got my eyes on triple webers, maybe a Nardi classic to replace the tattered wheel etc.

Great car, smart buy I reakon.

In terms of fixing your clock, I have this option for a 260z owner. It's the calendar clock - should be a direct plug and play in a 260z.

Not cheap, but still about 1/3 the price of a Twin Knob Rally Clock w/oscillator box.

If you're interested in it, send me a PM.

Otherwise for 260z's (different clock to 240z's) there is a repair guide on here.

Welcome, you bought a pretty tidy early 260Z. I hd the opportunity to have a brief look over the car late last year when Curtis brought the car on a ZCCQ run.  I hope It gives you great enjoyment. I like your idea of tasteful, period correct and reversible mods. Good luck and happy motoring. Mike

Welcome and great pick up for a young fellow like yourself. As Mike said we have been on a couple of runs with Curtis and that is a very nice car. 8)

Thanks everyone!

I'll look into that, but i've seen that guide before and it seems like it might be the way to go. The clock will come after a few other things though, like the tach isnt working at the moment either.

Welcomz.

Looks clean, is it going to be a daily ?

Almost, it will soon be my only car but technically public transport has been my daily driver for the past few years so it will essentially be a weekend car. I work in the inner city and study at UTS (which is ~5 mins walk from Central station) so I take the train every day.
