This is a very common problem, you may not need to replace them.

There have been a few threads on how to get them working again.

Cheers

I did a search, only found stuff about using honda motors as an alternative, my motor is working (although a bit slow).

Nothing about how to fix it, would be good just fixing it. I sprayed mine in WD 40. but it looks ruined. The seal is missing on the seized spinning thing

I am sure I have read about fixing this in a couple of build threads.

Can't recall which ones though  :(  hopefully another member will have a better memory then me.

There is a way to get a better search result via google, but exactly how eludes me atm, Gav ?

Cheers

The forum search gives me only 10 results maybe I am doing it wrong I can google search the forum. Not sure if the forum has it enabled because some forums don't allow things to appear on search engine. Looks like I got something to look forward to doing on the long weekend cheers guys.

From memory i'm pretty sure Lurch listed a good idea on how to fix them some time back.

really need one now, attempted to "unseize" the wipers and ended up cracking it in half. I had it soaked in wd40 for a few days and what seemed to be on the path of sucess was all but a dream when a light tap with a rubber mallet has split the brittle wiper mount in half  :'(

Are the 260Z S30 of the same dimensions, I have two working sets in my stash. If they don't match up you might be able to re build with parts from the 26oZ unit with a bit of ingenuity.

G'day mate, the two units I have are out of a 2+2 & a 260Z S30 & are identical so I should imagine they will match the 240Z set up.

They are both in vg cndtn.      Sent you a PM.

G'day Phil, just wondering if you recvd the wiper linkages OK & if they were a straight bolt up to the 240Z set up.

hi alan sorry I shoudl have let you know but I got carried away with some urgent things, I did receive the wipers on friday and had it installed, and my wipers now works great. Had installed new blades that I had purchased as well.

thank you for your help I will update my project thread as soon as I had time.

when comparing your wiper linkages to mine they were chalk and cheese, there was no way I could have got mine to the condition that yours were in.

Glad to hear mate, so now we all know that 240Z/260Z/260Z2+2 wiper linkages are all the same.

                                                              Regards: Alan.
