Administrators gav240z Posted April 2, 2014 Administrators Posted April 2, 2014 http://kiwimotoring.vo2.co.nz/clubs/view/constructors-car-club-inc Perhaps ask there? I think it is a custom. Quote
gilltech Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Yes looks like a custom, on NZ plates; badge on back looks to say 'Powered by....' but I can't make out the rest. Quote
chartoo Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Cheers, already contacted them and searched all that site but no luck Quote
pauly_adams Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 it looks like a customised morgan aero 8 or aeromax to me, morgan use many different engines and some have powered by badges depending on the customers order Quote
Scoota G Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Um i think lurchos muchaco knows what they are, custom built and based in Melbourne. He commented on a picture of one. PM him! Quote
PeterAllen Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 It's not a Devaux Spyder, if that's what's being suggested. I'd bet my kiwifruits it is a NZ design, based on a 1938 Alfa Romeo Quote
NZeder Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I recall a story about that car. It was either in a magazine or a late night news story. Anyway the red car is a 2003 registered scratch build Mille Miglia replica/retro of a 1938 Alfa Romeo 8c 2900b spider IIRC Quote
chartoo Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 I emailed the site and the author sent me a section of his book on the NZ car industry. Its made by Same Lyle and its called a SL Special and its a Alfa Romeo 8C2900 Replica. It was made from 98 to 03. Finished now but looks great. More pics and info here if your interested http://www.classiccar.co.nz/articles/alfa-romeo-8c-2900b-maserati-450s-going-wild-on-the-west-coast-209/attachment/alfa-romeo-8c-s Quote
