Vehicle history:

I have owned this Zed since 1988 and was the third owner and I have restored the body now twice, first in 1992 (bare metal repaint) and again in 2007 (bare metal resto and minor rust repairs)

This Zed has the original L26 (matching numbers) which has been refreshed in 2008 (10,000 km ago) with L24 flat top pistons, 280zx valves and triple 44 Mikuni carbs.

See here - http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2415.0.html

A short summary of improvements

Body - Full bare metal resto by Rankins Restorations 2007 ($10k spent)- paint is the original 306 Leaf Green Metalic, all new rubbers, badges and refreshed bumpers. Arizona Z car front spoiler. Cavity waxed in 2012 - Rust free !

Interior-  Is all mostly original- dash reskined in 2005- drivers seat refurbed in 2000, new carpets- brand new OEM console with lid from 78 model - Aircon refitted in 2007 with 280zx compressor and R34a gas - Factory Motosport Zed steering wheel (Super rare) - Kenwood 10 stack CD player

Suspension - King Springs with KYB gas inserts - Nolathen bushes and adjustable camber

Wheels -Panasport 15x7 "FZ" 8 spoke (Similar to Super lights but 3 kg lighter) - Brand new Dunlop Direzza F1's (Super sticky)

Brakes - Standard all round and upgraded to Group Sc spec -Rebuilt calipers, new wheel cylinders, braided lines, near new DBA slotted and drilled rotors.

Diff - R200 3.9 Clutch pacK LSD (From DR 30 Skyline) done < than 5000 km old- reshimmed and refreshed and torqued to factory settings.

Gearbox - standard 260z - rebuild by Lou Mondello with all new bearings and new synchros in 2nd and third. Fitted with Arizona Z car short shift kit

Engine - Original L26 with 280zx transistor ignition, 44 Mikunis breathing thru a Prince GTB air box and 280z filter housing- Standard A grind Cam (for around town drivablility) - approx 118 rwkw (50% power gain over a Standard L26)- Rebuild in 2008 with brand new everything (pistons, bearings, timing gear, high volume oil pump etc etc)

Exhaust - port matched HM headers with lengthened secondaries 2 1/2 system with turbo muffler

Having owned my Zed for over 25 years I know every nut and bolt on this car and have spared no expense in restoring and maitaining it - Multiple Concours' winner at numerous Zed Nationals and various car shows.

The Mikunis drive like fuel injection, power is ample and a great all road driving package with faultless reliability.

Absolutely nothing to spend.

Please no tyre kickers - cost to build a Zed to this standard would be many many thousands of dollars above asking price.

Must have been a tough decision. Good luck with the sale but I hope you change your mind and keep it to be honest.

Photos will be posted including the repairs - Bonnet replaced (factory new) and work done by Hardy Kuln or H&R Clasic restos which resulted in a beter than factory finish.

Further to my last email- the accident mentioned - ran in to the back of a young girl who stopped at a green light.....yes a green light...she was texting!

Damage repaired by Hardy Kuln one of the foremost body builders/restoration specialists in the business- end result is better than when new !

If I win lotto this weekend I think I would take the next flight to Melbourne to sort our the shipping of this car back to NZ. Always admired how well this car is presented and I would love to have a 260z like that in my carage - hmm 3 260z 2 seaters all green now we are talking.

1. For the track

1. Stockish aka this one

and 1 with the flares and modified a far bit - so only this one missing....better get to the shops and get that ticket - this weekend is a Jackpot of 20mil here in NZ.
