peter t Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Why is it that there is so much opposition from ZCCQ to go along with stuff forum members try to organise when on their web site they list this forum as theirs? ??? ??? ??? Just trying to get my head around that. No offence to the few great guys that belong to both ZCCQ and this forum. 8) Quote
dat2kman Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Yes! Some are a bit precious. All this kerfuffle about must be a member to participate etc, cant go for a run in your cars, as a group. Load of bollocks. Many many other clubs dont go on that way, ie HRCC! Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted November 14, 2013 Administrators Posted November 14, 2013 Not sure what this is in reference to, but I've had 1 of their members reach out to me re: Nissan / Datsun Nationals 2015 and we are going to put up some info soon. Am I missing some background here? Quote
260DET Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Bout time you got over it Jason and moved on, your obsession with the ZCCQ is tiresome. Anyway, yeh, what is the background to this problem? Quote
dat2kman Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 EAD ,,, what ARE you reffering to?? I didn't start this! Maybe a few other Qld forum members may like to post up their thoughts. You come across as a " we're better than everone else" attitude. Somewhat elitist and aloof. More yet to come with the plans for 2014 year, leading into the Z Car Club Nationals. Maybe the new committee will turn some of that around. Quote
be-zed Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Guys the Z Car Club of Queensland has never had a problem with anything the AUSZCAR forum has ever done in relational to activities it conducts .More to the point it is a number of current and past members of ZCCQ that have involvement in this forum . Why : Because it is a brillant forum. We are here all the time. What the forum may be seeing as a problem, is the internal workings of the ZCCQ's involvement as a CAMS Car Club. Also the guide lines Mains Roads QLD require ZCCQ as a INC organisation that we must follow. RED TAPE sums it up . Some of us do not allways follow those guidelines to the letter. Others feel it better to stay within the rules set down by outside organisations and not risk not being covered by public insurances. It is a choice members make. I do not believe that the ZCCQ has ever meant to put across the attitude of higher than anyone. Although I have seen the results of something been taken the wrong way . Some times things could have been said and executed in ways better than what they were. I am guilty of doing such things and of being a victim on more than one occasion. You pay a high price for wisdom and if I could change some things I would. A club is bound to make some mistakes over 30 years. But the ZCCQ is working hard right now to change things to cut RED TAPE. By changing their Charter to accommodate a host of different types of membership from Family to one-five day temp memberships to cover a host of events which could work in very well with Members of the forum. Gavin has been asked to help with our Roadz to Warwick events and NDN15 .This is because a number of Forum members will be planning these events . I DO NOT SAY THIS LIGHTLY ,WE WILL NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS A SUCCESSFULL SERIES OF EVENTS. Please Help More information on ROADZ and NDN2015 will be available in January 2014 Quote
peter t Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 Thanks Aub, I didn't mean to start a bush fire, just needed it explained in laymans terms. Will be looking forward to January and the upcoming runs. Quote
C.A.R. Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Strange... I was informed by a ZCCQ committee member a couple of months ago that there was not going to be any Sprints/Regularity at NDN2015. A Nav rally was going to be put in place instead... Quote
260DET Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Strange... I was informed by a ZCCQ committee member a couple of months ago that there was not going to be any Sprints/Regularity at NDN2015. A Nav rally was going to be put in place instead... Might be an idea to reveal who that member was Lurch because, frankly, I find that hard to believe. PM would be good, I am a committee member as is Aub if you prefer. Further, I made a special effort to attend NDN13 and let people know what the club had in mind for NDN15. And Morgan Park has been booked for the weekend which is a fact no one can deny. Anyway, thanks for bringing that up, unless we know what is being said we can't respond. Quote
