Yes, it has been on Ebay many times, one thing to consider is that it is Left Hand Drive !

Lhd drive cars rarely sell ,

I was considering buying a lhd car and converting it but the amount of stuffing around just is not worth it .

Right, OK. Didn't realize that was a dealbreaker for a lot of people.

Struggle with parts for LHD cars or people just don't like driving LHD?

Ad states that a 'Qld mod plate' will be supplied for the engine/transmission BUT that's only part of what is required. You can't have that HP without brake upgrades which have to be approved (it may or may not have them) and the steering may need to be altered (more approval). As an import it will have no ADR approvals.

I would recommend only purchasing this car if it is fully registered with engineering approval, which could run into many thousands $$$ extra. Discuss it wth an approval engineer first.

There is nothing in VSB14 that relates power to brake performance, it's all weight to brakes. And a 350chev zed doesnt come in a lot heavier than an L-engined zed. Stock brakes on mine, and a QLD mod plate.

A small block will come in around 45 Kgs heavier then the L Series and you lose 25 Kgs at the front if it has an aluminium radiator and intake manifold. Brake fade is what them measure which requires the vehicle to stop from 60 to 0 20 times in a row at .65 Negative G's and then a 100 to 0 at .8 Negative G's (from memory, may vary a little). I doubt if anyone here has ever done such a brake test on a stock Zed braking system

Page 7:

2.1 CHOICE OF REPLACEMENT ENGINE

A manufacturer’s standard or optional engine should be selected and installed using all the standard components for that vehicle model. However, where this is not practicable, the following requirements should be met:

 Any replacement engine should be of similar mass and power output to that of an engine fitted by the original vehicle manufacturer as standard or optional equipment;

When the replacement engine is larger in power output than an engine offered by the vehicle manufacturer as standard or optional equipment, the vehicle must be equipped with any necessary upgrading of equipment, e.g. brakes, front suspension, etc.; and

 The power and/or torque of the replacement engine must not exceed the capacity of the vehicle driveline.

Yes, so you test the brakes as described in the braking section of VSB14, which is similar to what ScootaG said. The negligible weight difference will have little effect on the stock brakes performance. The weight difference is not much more than a skinny bloke driving, or a fat bloke driving.

Seems kinda silly to have a lhd jap car

Although some japs have be importing zeds from the states and keeping them lhd, so I guess that makes it okay ::)

I don't think it's so bad to be honest. The import process is more hassle than anything else.

hey guys on new on here and im looking at getting into my first 240z. had many turbo Evos etc.

i just wanted to say i went and had a look at this 350 chev 240v today.

the car does exist and it requires loads of work. its got a small block 327 motor v8 that looks like its seen better days. paint is faided and surface rust showing. auto gear box and the interior screams neglect and sunburn.

the car is located at waterford on river road in a car yard, well they keep the car up the road in their property where they house heaps of imported american muscle cars and old ferrari's and collector cars.

just thought id give everyone an update on this.
