I find it interesting that instead of using Fleabay or Gumnuts I come here first and the silence is breath taking. Sorry it is a 280Zx and not a 240z But that's the way it is I thought all marks were welcome but suspect some of you guys have turned into utter snobs. 2+2's shock horror suggest children. Removing the advert its going into Shannons auction on their advice. Like on ozdat where everyone loves 1600 and nil else I was told I was wasting my time coming here and they were right. By the way there is a guy in Northern Melbourne that is buying every 280ZX he can get his hands on and yanking out engines and drive trains and fitting into Skylines. The white fully imported Fairlady Zed was sold for $1000 the body is now scrap engine in a C31 Skyline cheers

GRS30 on Classic Plates With RWC Found in shed in Horsham and fixed a few faults and put back on the road. Oil filter and Freight $25.00; Air filter $43.50; Repco Oil $30.00; Calliper kit $32.99; spark plugs $36.00; Front wheel bearings $64.00; Front lower ball joints $75.00; tie rod ends $96.00; Machine rear drums $30.00; front rotors $100.50; MLP Hitachi carbie kit $101.50; front wheel alignment $66.00; two new tyres $100.00; Rear wheel cylinder $23.00; 2 front brake hoses $50.00; rack boots $66.00; Clutch hose and slave $66.00; Workshop manual $70.85; wiper blades $23.00; RWC $130.00 Permit $66.00; coolant and brake fluids, under car clean and seal, grease. Parts car $900 sourced in Point Cook, from which four original wheel and a whole exhaust and extractor system was acquired and a full size spare wheel. Also the fuel tank, fuel pump, filter and twin carburettors were taken from the parts car as the 12 yr. fuel had turned to varnish and clogged up all the fuel lines and carbies. I also scrounged one front parking lamp, side indicator, temp and oil gauge, centre console, rear seat belts and clutch master cylinder to finish off the restoration to road use. As of October its Roadworthy and ready for classic plates, engine puffs smoke if left idling too long and rattles a bit, gearbox seems OK and diff doesn’t whine. Asking $7500 with RWC good until 21st then it stays here Yes sun roof I know I know not my idea. L26 with E88 head need it gone has ATU on it ditto above when I pull mine from my 260Z. I might consider swapping my spare L28 F54/N42 for a 260Z interior parts especially seats.. Also have spare N42 gas head with gas cam from 240Z on LPG Call me

Page 59 of How to Modify your Nissan/Datsun OHC engine has an exploded view of the TC24-B Twin cam cross flow L series 6 cylinder head made by O Giken in Japan. Page 60 has exploded view Page 59 talks about FIA Group 2 heads but they don't seem to be twin cam just four valves Early 11041-22010 Intake 45mm Ex 35mm Late 11041-N7120 Intake 44mm Ex 36mm Parts numbers Cylinder head Early 11041-22010 Late 11041-N7120 Editorial goes on to say.. Optional two valve cross flow was n/a Nissan USA The reason is that it was not allowed in racing class. But it only gave 4-6%v improvement according to the text The cross flow twin cam head it says was a private designby OS Giken and were sent to USA for RALLYE 280ZX by Japanese team The car was SCCA RENO entry but car was sent back to JAPAN. The TC24B1 head is available from OS GIKEN in japan for $12,000 if youw ant call them at 464 Okimoto Okayama Japan Hope this helps

Yeah everyone finds barn finds, well this was in a chicken coop. Covered in dust. I last saw this ten years ago and decided to buy it two months ago. Now I am not so sure however journey so far. Ungclog fuel lines with the varnish ketone of 10 year stale petrol that stinks like crap. Blow out fuel lines. Flush out fuel tank. Chuck out filter and dissemble fuel pump clean wash and assemble. $12.00 Remove Hitachi SU types clean wash fit new needle seat kits $44 each re assemble. $88.00 Fit new BP6ÊS plugs after compression check $54.00 Second hand set of plug leads ex 280ZX New points and adjusted $9.50 Dizzy cap and Rotor $44.00 ---------------------------------------------- Start and run engine. Flushing oil $19.00 New coopers filter 5 l GTX $25.00 Stop engine and fix water leaks. New thermostat and second hand housing $35.00 Lower water housing drill out snapped bolt and refit $12.00 New rubber hose to water heater. Flush out water jackets and fill with coolant (green) Run and adjust idle. ------------------------------------------------- Swap over rusted out rear exhaust system drill out two broken studs retap and fit extractors off parts car and new exhaust system comprising two new mufflers front and rear from parts car $400 out of $1000 Pressure was under floor fishoilene proof coat. ------------------------------------------------------ Suspension Replace Lower ball joints BJ95 both sides $150.00 Replaced both Tie rod ends both sides and new boots $150.00 Removed ZX Rotor on one side and some other smaller 4 cylinder rotor and worn out pads down to metal. WIP Fix electric gauges either with parts car or by sourcing electrical problem. Tidy up interior Parts car seats and backs ok front seat bottoms worn out. Fit my parts car centre console and decide which NOS datto radio to refit. car has sun roof for some reason and a full BENDIGO SKIRT KIT (Harrop?) I have washed, treated and buffed the OEM wheels from my parts car so that's the other protion of the $1000 I spent on the parts car. Just fitted and balanced two new 185x65x14 fronts (Intensas) $150.00 Full wheel alignment $66.00 It has back 215x65xR14 Intensas in VGC. There were some other 6.5x14xCSA mags with recaps which have been removed Car has 1 near unused and polished oem spare and a second spare in cover held down by tie downs. 4 spares on ebay at $400 you get 6 OEM NISSAN Tool kit. Full set of Z hub caps and two spare (check out asking price of those (6x$25=$150.00) There are also some 6.5x14 CSA horrible gold painted mags with 215P recaps radials if you must have them Free.. The good thing about car apart from a fleck of rust on front and one door I cant see any cancer repaired cancer or any of the normal corrosion that gets into these cars when left outside.. But my wife says I stink like a paint factory and Im not that impressed with the car now I have got it going.. SO if you want to finish a project make me offer or a swapper.. Looking for offers over $5000 includes parts car which has pretty well been gutted out but still has diff struts fuel tank glass

I have an L28 that was fitted to a parts car I was going to use it details as follows L28 #517774 F54 late siamesed cylinder block N42 head. Ran last Friday, fitted ina 260Z with auto box and carbies so not thrashed. Good oil pressiutre no smoke. As I said I was going to use it but my 260Z project engine seems OK. I can deliver to Mt gambier SA if youc an arrange freight from there which should be easy Engine is stripped LONG BLOCK no accessories or flywheel. $500 delivered to MT Gambier SA (100k away).

Seats are from a mystery JDM FAIRLADY 280Z Black and silver model seats are RED LEATHER It was a HGS130 000824 JDM import that was stripped and crushed in 2004 we kept the seats interior, dashboard Roof lining and all the hardware. Please email me as I cant upload photos -

A 260Z is not a 280Z Ask CAMS after the Mt Buller crash seen on SBS TV They came to my house from Mt Gambier and scrutinesed a genuine HGLS30 I bought from a US serviceman A 260Z is NOT a 280Z in any form except shape. Ask CAMS 2c Previous info 1976 HGLS30 left hand drive 280Z 2+2 purported to have originated in the USA from a US serviceman who came to work at the US spy base in Alice Springs in 1982. He sold the car locally (naughty naughty, private imports not allowed back then) to his girlfriend who has owned for 17 years. It has been stored in the high desert for the past 5 years and now I can buy it. There are some problems however as I see it ...I will be brief. 1/. Authenticating the cars origin as USA, how do I do this it may have come from other Left hand countries. 2/. The engine has been nmodified to a single down draft carburettor and I need to get details of the original EFI system and change it back. 3/. Spare parts what fits from 240/260Z cars as thats the only models ever sold in Australia. 4/.There are very few 280z's here and virtually no spares, so how do I get rudimentary parts like fixing a broken tail light or side light or window? etc etc any comments will be answered thanks in advance. My 260Z and 280Z have gone both sold for $4500 This is last and best and is still $4500 Why? I want it gone. I am reverting back to my TOYOTA Roots (shock horror) And cos its prob the best you will find anywhere in OZ standard.. If not prove me wrong. Bare metal resprayed in February 1999 (10,000 km ago), reconditioned head late 2000. Engine in good running order has travelled just over 102,000 kM since new. Over $6,000 plus original purchase price. Currently 105,000 KM sheded since pruchase.
