It's also on Gumtree.

What do you guys think about it?

If you are looking to buy one and it fits in your budget, make contact with the owner, ask for more photos to be emailed to you.  If after seeing more photos, you are still interested, ask one of the Canberra boys if they will go and look at it for you - I'm sure one of them will do that for you.  If there report comes back positive about the car, go to Canberra and buy it - and buy the helpful Canberra boy a slab or similar.  Put the car on a trailer and tow it home.  You can then start your 'journey'.

Yeah PM me if you need a reconnaissance  mission on the 240z in Canberra. Least in and around the ACT - rust issue will be almost non existant!!!  Should be if its a local car as stated!

Is Crace next to Palmerston ??  ???

I can also inspect if required.

It amazes me how many zeds are nestled away in our region.

Canberra cars seem to be Australia's version of Cali cars...

I've got one and the hype is true  ;)

Looks like an OK starting point. Pull back the paint, some fresh orange, manual box and you've got a pretty nice Z for < 15k.

Interesting fact that we have more car clubs per head of population than anywhere else  :P

the amount of 1 owner muscle cars from the 70s, italian and british 1/2 mil exotics and top shelf collectible cars is mind boggling.....

Reminds me I need to get my lucky lotteries ticket.  :( :(

Haha I reckon. Crace is right next door to Palmerston... Im going out on Sat or Sun to view it for tony if your keen to come.

I bought it for my mum....... ;)

The "I don't drive my car" rock.  It's being used as a "semi-weekly" now, gets driven two or three times a week to work while I iron out the problems.  I'm trying to work out if I actually need to get the brakes engineered or if I can do it as self certified as it's basically the FIA 4-spot vented brake package which was available in Japan as a purchase option.  I've been told $1200 for a certificate, in which case I'll be refitting standard rotors and calipers.

I have a window regulator assembly to fit, I'm still sorting the door locks (key barrels), I need a door lock assembly (ex-US at this point), after which it just needs a new exhaust (thin) and four new tyres (old & the rears are a wee bit worn  ::) ).

I quick calculation and it seems you use your Zed 432% more than 90 % of owners on here  ;D Engineering would be required for a brake conversion but that's If they notice. Engineering for me cost $870 for engine swap and all brakes. I was informed by the engineer that it would be between $750 to $1500 for the certification.

Annoying thing for me is that the only thing that isn't engineered is the brake conversion to vented. Swept area and piston area are unchanged, it just went from a 14mm to 27mm wide disk. It will take all of 20 minutes to test it and write it up.

Would it pass the engineers velocity and pedal tests? Engineers will perform 6-10 hard full stops to search for brake fade, steering pull etc. If its just the front, I would even tell the rego guys as they wouyldnt even notice. Rears different story obviously

I had to do the brake test as part of the original conversion (weight changes affecting braking blah blah), but after cooking the front brakes big time... vented conversion.  Brakes are awesome now... but not mentioned on the engineers certificate.

Which brings back to the self-certified. If it's the same components as the "sports option", why not argue the point that it's the factory kit?  You could buy the cars with the front vented conversion in Japan, the only difference with mine is that I'm using a replacement disk (Brembo).
