My old Bus is still up at Port Mac. as far as I know...

I have my Bog and fibreglass filled poor excuse of a vehicle that was originally a Zed!

Not anwhere near running and apprehensive about stipping the body back  :-\ not too sure what I'm gunna find.

Haven't forgotten about you Loui, must drop by to check on your progress.

I know that most of the Zeds sold might stay in Syd, hopefully the  new owners sign up to this forum.

Last time I met up with "the boys" it was my Zed and 3 mx5's

Dont worry, we will all be back.. my Zed is staying local in sydney at least.

Mine is progressing slowly so won't be out and about for awhile but I'm in Normanhurst near Wahroonga and Hornsby.

Well i should make a proper introduction but thought i would chime in here first, i'm the poor sod that bought kennys black 240Z 

I've wanted a 240Z since i was 17 so i decided i might as well go ahead and bite the bullet now as prices are going to keep on rising.

Yes it is a rolling restoration project but thats pretty much what you expect for any sub $10k 240Z judging from what i have seen on the market.

The body is pretty straight for a black car, but you can tell the high-fill primer is pretty damn thick in places.

The rust situation is pretty typical but not too bad, the floors have been patched and a chassis rail has been done but it needs a patch under the battery box and a couple other areas (and im sure a few others lurking under the paint as usual), but its nothing major as i do all my own bodywork. I actually just finished replacing the floors and sill panels on my '74 Alfa 105 GTV project which is nearing completion.

At the moment i'm working on the mechanicals, first up i'll be replacing the strut inserts, springs, bushes, ball joints and then I’ll be upgrading the brakes...

The L28 is pretty healthy it just needed a good tune, I adjusted the SU’s (man was it rich before), plugged up a couple vac leaks and adjusted the valve clearances. She goes pretty good but the temp gauge is faulty, I stuck a thermometer in the radiator and it was getting close to 200 degrees which is too hot for comfort. I’ll try my luck with a rad service as it was last done in ’98 according to the sticker on it.

And lets not forget the mickey mouse electrics.... don’t get me started! This will keep me busy for awhile. And people say Italian cars have dodgy electrics?

Actually im just down the road from where it used to live in newtown. I've seen the car drive by before and thought to myself thats one fine looking Zed. Then i thought to myself how long its been since ive seen an early Z on the road.

A few weeks later i decide to go looking for one, stumbled across this forum... and what do you know the exact car was advertised for sale, so i decided it must have been meant to be...

Of course it wasnt nearly as good as i convinced myself it would be and im sure i payed too much for it (does this sound familiar to anyone?) but ah well such is life, she's a diamond in the rough and she'll be sweet in no time 

yeah I got my 240z in syd still....might even post a picture or two one day....

Windsor (Well, Pitt town). Moving there for my partner. She is from that way and wants to move back to be closer to her family.
