From what ive been reading there are a few factory seats that require little to no modification to fit in. Other option would be to get an aftermarket seat say a velo or a bride and then make the rails bolt to factory mounts by either modifying the aftermarket rails or merging them to the factory rails somehow

Ive been looking as well mate with no luck. I can only find stuff from usa which will cost a bomb to ship over here! im thinking about just buying some general automotive style carpet and doing a diy approach. The z doesnt seem to be too complex in the way it angles carpet etc so shouldnt be too bad. if you do find somewhere, pm me and let me know please! Dan

Is there anyone in Aus that is modifying rb25 or rb30 sumps to fit rb into 260z conversion? Would rather pay a member than a shop but happy for any recommendations

Slight up date pulled main interior bits out to inspect floor and overall condition. No rust in the floor which is awesome news! Found some rust in both doglegs but minimal thank god! can anyone tell me if the seat pattern is factory spec? And also if the 260z 2+2 came out with carpet? Ive seen a lot have a checkered almost vinyl setup, which mine has under the carpet, but seeing if someone has put carpet in or not.

Going to rb25det with skyline ecu etc i hate how different states have different rules! In Adelaide i could get away with driving it as is as we dont have yearly inspections or roadworthy certs, but would like to do it properly!

Looking at converting the rear brakes from drums to discs and have found out that series 1 280zx rear discs and calipers work with a little modifying. located adelaide but happy to pay postage for interstate! 0407793620 thanks!

Ive tried calling them and no answer. Perhaps they Are temporarily closed due to Covid 19? where are people buying mckinney engine/trans mounts from? Mckinneys website appears no longer too all i want are some mounts to keep the project going!!

She still needs a fair bit of work to get to a level im happy with but in time we should have an awesome little car!

Me too! We have our 260z 2+2 project were currently in the process of removing the L26 and making way for the rb25det to go in! Once this Project is done (ha!) then i would love to meet up with a few other z guys down here! Dan

Here are some pics of when we bought the car. I was reading through the service history and it only has 66,000kms. we also found an rb25det With gearbox, ecu and loom for a good price! I got to see it running the car beforehand and apparently only has 117,000kms but you never know with import cars!

Time will tell! Ill post up when ive been through it with my conversion and let you guys know the results...

Hi guys my names Dan, i have had my eye on my friends dad’s datsun 260z 2+2 for about 10 years now and due to some health circumstances he has decided to sell it to me. Its a 1974 model with l26 and manual box. Currently red but factory green i beleive. my plan is to take l26 and box out and install rb25det engine and 5 speed box. Ive owned many skylines and jdm imports but never a Z so would like to combine the look with the power from new heart! im an auto electrician by trade and have been for 10 years now. If you have any electrical questions im more than happy to receive pm’s through the forum and ill also try my best to help out with posts asking for help! good to be here and im sure there will be many questions but from ive seen so far there is an exstensive amount of info here ! Hi guys Just a long shot here, has anyone bought a set of mounts (ideally looking for mckinney) too suit rb25det eng and box conversion into 260z and not used them? With all this covid stuff going on i cant imagine how long it will take for their mounts to ship over here!
