  1. Further comment: It is worthwhile considering a brake upgrade for the TT if you wish to let it all hang out. My daughter ( driving the 300ZX TT) ran up the back of my near new 370Z on her first run - as the brakes ( although state of the art in the ninetees ) need a decent shove to operate. Fortunately , only damage was to pride.
  2. When I think about it - the chip was replaced on my 300ZX TT when they boosted the turbos. This chip is piggy backed onto the normal chip - which still allows the normal functions - but enhances the overall performance parameters . The top speed is normally regulated to 255kms/hr with the regular chip . I suppose it is possible to use the stock engine with a non-regulated (non standard) chip to get a substantially higher top speed ( at the risk of course of damaging the engine at higher speeds).
  3. A bit of nostalgia NE_History_of_Nissan_Fairlady_Z_All_Generation__List__240Z_280ZX_300ZX_350Z_370Z_E4U.mp4
  4. Hi, Some cool videos - these cars are purported as being stock 300ZX Z32 Twin Turbos Nissan 300ZX STOCK Top Speed!!.mp4 nissan 300zx top speed over 300km h.mp4

  6. Seeing the emphasis in most of the forums is on intense mechanical themes - I'd better move with the flow . The 300ZX Z32 twin turbo has 4 wheel steering as part of its specs (known as HICAS). There are two sensors to monitor this system - one is behind the speedo and one in the bowels of the undercarriage near the gearbox. As the car comes into a corner the HICAS system monitors the speed (speedo sensor) and uses this to create a better turning angle by turning the rear wheels to an appropriate angle to enhance the cornering ability. However, as I have discovered - if any of these two sensors "go on strike" - one is immediately confronted with a big orange light on the dashboard and the speedo stops working. After pulling the speedo apart - it was found that it was the sensor "down under" and not the speedo sensor that was the culprit. Pricing on E Bay at the time for the sensor was north of $750 . Incredibly, it was less than half the price to get it from America - even factoring in the exchange rate and postage. After replacement , the orange light has disappeared and the 320kms/hr speedo is smiling again. Interestingly enough , on another topic - I had the wick turned up on the turbos to over 300kws , but later noticed a number of You Tube videos where 300ZX twin turbos ( purporting to be stock) were recorded doing in excess of 300kms/hr. ? maybe I should have saved my money.
  7. All invited - family, friends (even your mother-in-law!) - Just indicate numbers .
  8. Heads up on upcoming cruise by the Z Car Club of Sydney. This is a fantastic spot with great water views . If any Auszcar Club members are interested - please reply to this post - as numbers for lunch have to be communicated to the management ahead of time as the venue is not huge .Meals are very reasonably priced . Please see attachments. Berowra Waters Itinery..docx Berowra Waters Fish Cafe Menu.docx
  9. The Z Car Club of Sydney has secured 4 spots on pitlane for this event. There will be four 240Zs displayed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 240Z . The rest of the members will be displaying their Zeds in Area E . Pop over & say hello to your fellow enthusiasts !
  10. I assume there is the appropriate 15 year old Scotch supplied free to subscribers of this event ?
  11. Update Every one who attended this excursion thoroughly enjoyed it. The weather was a little coolish - but fine. The Fleet Air Arm Museum was excellent with great displays , videos and interactive devices. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal at the Bomaderry Bowling Club. The drive along the given route was pretty sporty with fairly light traffic.
  12. Oh no ! Here I had my mouth watering for a free juicy steak and a fat snag to wash it down ! You mean to say the rumour was all (ar) BS ?
  13. Is there any truth to the rumour that Mr ARBS is going to supply all the snags , filet mignon and porterhouse steak for the barbecue as well as don an industrial grade apron and do all the cooking ?
  14. The brave Z Car Club of Sydney members who attended this excursion barely escaped with their lives - made George Clooney's "perfect storm" look like a picnic ! One member had to get a bus home from Canberra to the Hills district. If interested you can read the tragic report in "News" (Feb 2018) on the Z Car Club of Sydney's website ( no membership or password necessary)
  15. Lots of planning goes into these excursions -you will enjoy the camaraderie - hope to see more Z car enthusiasts at the next one.
  16. The Z Car Club of Sydney has been actively involved with Shannons for quite a few years - long before I joined. By way of interest - some shots taken in 2017 and 2018 . Attendance was excellent at both events.
  17. The content of the four pitlane positions will be 4 X 240Zs
  18. Hi, I am a NSW member of the Auszcar Club & a member of the Z Car Club of Sydney. With the latter car club I have organised 4 spots on pitlane @ Shannons , Eastern Creek NSW (18th August) to celebrate the 50th anniversary . In addition I have written an article on the history of the 240Z . This will shortly appear in the "Preserve" magazine of the CMC. We are also planning a meet in October re: the 50th anniversary. Lots of stuff happening !!
  19. Hi Auszcar members, Just a final point on this excursion - the Z Car Club of Sydney is pretty flexible when it comes to wheels. Providing it is not a "display" event like Shannons, Gannons etc - if for any reason your Zed is feeling poorly - please feel free to bring another vehicle -it's all about bums on seats ( this is meant, of course in the nicest possible way!) Kind regards
  20. A few shots of the Australian Pioneer Village excursion. You will probably recognise some vehicles of members with duplicate memberships of the Auszcar Club & the Z Car Club of Sydney. See attachments. Image 2 APV.docx Image 3 APV.docx Image 1 APV.docx Image 4 APV.docx

  22. Hi Auszcar members, Sorry about the directions in miles rather than kms. My computer doesn't seem to want to download the more "ordinary" Google directions/maps for some reason. Anyway, for you 240Z pilots with rear drum brakes, no power steering or air conditioning - it is somewhat nostalgic and topical. Hope you can make it to the 21st July excursion.
  23. The Fleet Air Arm is well worth a visit - great displays ( including interactive auto displays) . There are also simulators where you can "fly" a helicopter or plane using electronic controls and a 3D monitor inside an actual aircraft/helicopter cockpit. The Z Car Club of Sydney visited here in June 2017. Zorro XXCapt Bazza.docx
