  1. Do they have a wide variety of parts for interior and exterior or do they specialise in something particular, wouldn't mind going for a ride to check it out. Can you walk in and browse the parts or is it counter service?
  2. Ok I'll take my time... Yeah wheels are going ASAP! Thinking SSR mesh?? Trying to find some comparisons to confirm what offset I want to run.. I found a great set in 14" but I think they may look too small so shopped around and found a set of 15" that have seen better days so going to make some calls to get a price to service them. I also wanted to add fender mirrors but originals seem to be around $500 USD!!
  3. Thanks guys.. Drives very nice, once the house renos are complete I plan to pull everything out and see what I have to deal with..
  4. Hi Guys My names John and I'm from Sydney and a new owner of a 260z, this was the 5th car I viewed and I was quick to realise that I wasn't looking for the best Z but instead the Z with the least problems within my budget and hopefully I've done enough research to pick a good car. I stumbled across this car which was from Toowoomba and previously a resident of Darwin and Brissie before that. It seemed like one of the better examples I've seem so I ended up going slightly over budget to purchase it and end my travels to different parts of oz. Not sure what plans I have for the car whether it be heavily Japanese influenced or just a simple resto but for now there are a few cosmetic changes I want to make to the car, time will tell I suppose. Other toys I also own a self built R32 gts-t with RB25/30 and a Triumph Daytona 675. Great to be apart of the community and from what I've read so far it appears most people are over 18 which always helps.. Here are some pics from yesterday when I received it..
  5. I was in Martin Place, now based in Kogarah.
  6. PM sent..
  7. Thanks, when I get the car I'll make an official intro with pics
  8. So looks like I'll have a 260z in the garage in a week or so.. In brief Drive train: 8.5/10 Suspension: 9/10 Interior: 8.5/10 Exterior body: 8/10 Internal body: 7/10 I found some rust as per usual which I feel comfortable in repairing over time, there was also some "areas of concern" which may also be an issue in the long run but again nothing that I feel will get out of hand.. Price wise I got it for under 20k but did pay a little more than I wanted but in saying that if the next set of flights didn't score me a car I'd be in for the same amount. Overall I'm happy considering the price to import a decent one from japan is well over 30k right now...
  9. Seller had planned to keep it but his plans change. Main section of rust was Floor in the rear was rusted out and he did a total cut out and replace. Now I would think if he was going through that much effort he would of replaced any other rust at the time of the work. Hopefully... Not to say there hasn't been more rust forming since. Anyhow maybe it would be a better starting point. Waiting for my flight as we speak. Will update after I view it.
  10. I was informed it's now sold..
  11. I'm off to see this tomorrow http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/toowoomba-4350/cars-vans-utes/1975-datsun-260z-coupe/1073747234 Wish me luck...
  12. I would say he still owns in..
  13. haha true and I have done a conversion in the past... It's also is out of budget unfortunately but if not sold I would still like to see the car in the flesh if the seller allows.
  14. Contacted that seller.. Apparently it's pretty much sold but I wasn't sure about the Auto trans..
  15. Just an update, I found one that appears to be in better condition that I will be seeing next weekend.. Fingers crossed.
  16. I've sent 2 members sms inquiring on their cars also, see how we go
  17. Fun part is hunting one down I suppose.
  18. That looks like a fantastic car, especially for the money. There's a red one in Sydney for 25k that looks completed. Might contact the seller and see if I can see what a 260 at the other end of the market looks like. Appreciate all the help.
  19. Ended up taking your advice to head home and think about it. I plan to make a list of repair and head to me local repair shop to get their opinion on cost and difficulties. From there we'll see how we go. In the mean time I'll keep searching
  20. Uploaded 3 external shots, 1 one the spray in process. Might be in the recent page
  21. Forgot to mention the doors seem ok but again have been painted so can't be 100%. If I was to spend another 10k restoring I wouldn't be too upset. I would try get it cheaper if I could. What would be an ok price you think? I'll upload a picture of the outside of the car.
  22. Also owner seems to think it was always red like the engine bay
  23. From a financial point of view Is buying a 260z for 15k and spending 10k on it a waste or is 25k or 30k a wise investment? Personal view I'm after really.
  24. Asking price is 15k They all technically had 4 seats? Or only the 2+2? The rails underneath the car seemed ok. Nothing dented and I couldn't seem anything bad. Slam panel had a tiny bit of rust only. Tail gate good. How do I check the dogleg? You can't get in there.
  25. Main concern is the front of the car, and what it will take to repair it cost wise. I always planned on spending some cash on it but don't want to spend a huge amount in 1 area. I'm going back to see it again in the morning.
