Have a 3.5 ratio OPEN - R180 differential. Was working when removed from car (several years ago) - has been stored in a closed garage with oil until now. Turns smoothly, I can remove the back plate for photos for an interested party. In the interim I have looked through the drain hole and all gears look to be in good condition with no rust. You will need a front flange to mate with your drive shaft - the one in photo comes from the Subaru diff I swapped into the car. There was nothing wrong with this diff I just swapped it with a better ratio Subaru diff. I’m a realist and know this is not a particularly desirable ratio which is why I have priced it accordingly. $200 (located Newcastle - can assist with transport between Newcastle - Canberra) PM if interested

Have an ATI harmonic balancer hub adapter for sale. Mounts ATI harmonic balancer to the crankshaft. Brand new, never fitted or used. It is the hub adapter ONLY (as per photos). PM if interested. $50

Hey everyone, I’d got my hands on these inner tie rods which came from Z Car Depot a while ago. Anyone had any experience with them. The quality looks reasonable but Chinese made. Otherwise I can go through Ultimate Power steering… Cheers

Pretty sure that’s an insert Possibly no oil installed around it and that’s caused the issue??

It appears to be an insert What was the one out of the factory?

Anyone have some secret technique to remove a shock absorber (which appears to be full of 40 year old crud possibly rust) from the strut? Welded a nut onto the gland nut and the rattle got it off ok, but shock absorber unit is packed in nice and tight - currently soaking it with inox Open to any and all ideas Cheers Jason

And as long as the chain is tight on the tension side should be right correct?

I’m struggling with the search for this one so I apologise as I’m sure it is in here somewhere. About to install a timing chain with no bright links, there is one link that is distinguishable (with a clip on it) - I’ve found a reference (from a different site) that there are 18 outer links in between the alleged “bright links” - could anyone confirm? And yes I have thoroughly checked both sides of the chain. Cheers in advance. Jason

Hi all, Just wondering for those using ATI balancers is there a preference or why choose the 7.074” (2.5kg) vs 6.325” (1.8kg). Obviously a larger rotational force for the larger one. Engine it would be going on: L28 L24 rods Flat top pistons 76 degree cam Triple Webers cheers for any help and suggestions Jason

Any interest in an open 3.5 ratio R180 differential? Does not have any of the flanges. Was rebuilt about 8 years ago, only in the car for 2000km before being removed as I’d upgraded to a 3.9 ratio. Been in dry storage ever since, stored with oil. I will upload photos if there is any interest. Would be priced around $250 Located in Newcastle (NSW) however depending on Sydney lockdown status could be delivered to Sydney/Central coast region

Need a 5 speed bell housing from any of the following: 280ZX 240/260Z (775mm long) 240K Skyline Will consider an entire “wrecked/broken/destroyed” gearbox so long and bell housing is in good nick. Anywhere between Newcastle - Canberra preferred. Cheers Jason

Ok photos of the choke set up - sorry let me know if you want more clarification. The generic choke I bought from Repco looks a little different from what they have now (1st photo) but basically there is an outer sheath that clips into the first Weber (closest to the engine - 3rd photo) then you run the inner wire through all the others(4th photo) which simply connects with the bolt which has a hole in it. In the car you remove the pull handle of the Repco choke then connect the inner wire to the original choke handle. From memory you just needed to bend the wire through the hole in the handle. I can’t remember doing much more than that, except clamping down the outer sheath in the car where the original choke wire was clamped. If you want photos of what’s going on under the centre console let me know but from memory it was actually quite easy.
