  1. If I could buy a car like yours in that kind of condition (hell even with the scratches) I wouldn't be spending countless hours doing rust repair work. It seems like you have some good advice to go on so far and are on the right track to getting it sorted out.
  2. I tried sending you a txt while I was at work today but the phone was telling me 'message sending failed'. I just sent one from my work phone and it's telling me it went through so if you have 2 or 3 messages the same that's why.
  3. I wouldn't say no to the chair
  4. Looking good, can't wait to see some more. Although I'm in Queensland, one of the best things I done to my garage was to insulate and line the whole thing. Makes a HUGE difference to the temperature and also cuts down the outside noise.
  5. Some plates are worth ALOT of money to the right people. But it is also a matter of the right person looking for the 'right' plate when it is for sale. 'The plates' that I am assuming you are reffering to may not, and in QLD, would not have been that expensive to buy new. Saying that, there will be someone out there who will and can pay what they want for what ever plate they want (that sounds confusing but seems to make sense, I've had a couple).
  6. Is it that time of year again??? I know this is on twice a year but it just seems like time is flying by at the moment. I'll try and come down for a look with my brother in-law if we aren't busy.
  7. Ahh yes I've done that a few times
  8. Figured I'd keep this going. I took this one while driving up a very steep hill, I just grabbed the camera and hoped for the best as I was trying to watch where I was going, notice the ground out the back window. And another one of me
  9. Might have to have a look and see what their worth. We haven't thought about flairs for it.
  10. So it lives again... how long for now though?
  11. Been a little while, had to go looking for my thread. Anyway, I have been a bit busy lately. Been doing a fair bit more riding over the past few months and that means more work on the bikes, trailer, cars and the list goes on. Might try and get some more work done on this now as I'm itching to start working on my car again but I don't want or have the room to work on two cars. Onto the pictures, that's what your here for isn't it? What my garage has been looking like lately Finished off the inside of the rear hatch, the bracket is welded back on and primed Also finished this section and it's all primed Done a few touch ups around the body, just about finished them all Haven't done too much work with this at the moment but I cleaned it all up so it's ready to go I have done a bit of work on the side skirts, well just one at the moment, first one takes the longest time. Just cut down to a 'rough' legnth Eyeing up what needs to be done And this is one skirt trimmed to fit, just need to do the same to the other one then finish them off.
  12. It wasn't me, I swear
  13. Have a chat to the people at Affordable Body Works, there at unit 3 number 7 Paisley dr Lawnton and the phone number is 3205 1264.
  14. 1000 hours, wow. One of my customers owns a classic car restoration shop and I know what they charge by the hour. I sure hope Will isn't charging you the same, although the quality of his work looks like it would be worth it.
  15. The first two photos were taken by me and the third is a picture of me but it was taken on my camera. They were taken on a Olympus Tough TG-310, just a waterproof point and shoot camera.
  16. Your local Supercheap/Autobarn/Repco normally stock them. I haven't found (or looked) anywhere else that has the plastic clips. I normally go to Northside Fasteners for all of my hardware.
  17. Thanks for the offer but all I need is the bumper support and I wasn't looking at spending that much either, If I cant find one on its own soon I'll just make one. I have 3 of everything else already so it would just be something else for me to get rid of later on.
  18. Hey guys I'm chasing the metal front bumper support for a 280zx. I'm wanting one with no rust, I have 3 laying around that are rusty.
  19. I've now stripped 2 cars using the 'Brumby Strip it Discs' from Bunnings on a 4inch grinder and have had no issues with warping panels. Just take your time and work a section at a time. Also make sure you wear the appropriate PPE.
  20. Wish I could have made it, oh well next time I'll go
  21. Hey 24 Dat I won't be able to make it this time round, I think my brother inlaw might still go down for a look though
  22. It'd be the B pillar on that car, You count the pillars from the front to the rear A,B,C... you get the idea. On another note this is one hell of a project you are undertaking, I hope you finish it and I lookforward to seeing the progress that you make.
  23. Thanks Actually I was born in Victoria and raised in WA, you've been wrong twice now The second one really isn't that bad we are just being thorough and also given the budget is between f**k all and nothing for a car I think we are doing quite well so far. In a ideal world we would like to have a perfect shell to start with but we are being realistic here. Thanks for the kind words. If I get the time I'll get some more work done on the car soon
  24. Yea I've been plugging along at it but I haven't touched it for almost two weeks now, just needed some time away from it but I may venture out to the garage and do some more work. Yea the blue car was quite bad, didn't seem that way when we bought it. But the grey car really wasn't that bad, when you go looking for rust on a old car you will find some. They're cans of VB Gold not XXXX. Let me know what Z31 stuff you got before getting rid of it, I might be interested. No trick, just wire wheels and strip it discs on a grinder, oh and I used a paint stripper for the engine bay (that was a messy job) Thank you, I'd still like to see your car one day. Yea after all the work on the first car we did decide to use it as a parts car but it was a good learning experience. Michael is now my brother in-law, I've been married for 2 years in June (we had my car at the wedding). And yes I do have a sister who is single
