  1. Rectangular plate with captured nut in the wheel arch. Unlikely done from new but certainly doesn't look out of place.

  3. Recently installed the Aveska retractable belt to the drivers side of a 73 240Z. For me it was a direct replacement of the previously installed system where the retractor system is mounted just forward of the rear wheel arch. Bracket was not necessary however, a spacer was required to clear the interior trim on the roof mounting point. Overall an excellent replacement of a frayed belt that would no longer retract fully.
  4. Got full air conditioning system removed from a 240Z however, it is the under the dash style. Also have an Aunger louvre.

  7. Have zinc plated at home since 2011 ....... huge time sink! Requires plenty of space and although weak acid involved best to have that part of the process away from cars and other precious items. Also requires regular supplies of distilled water or similar. I run a reverse osmosis setup for this purpose. Main issue, and the time consuming part, is cleaning the parts in the first place. Ultrasonic cleaner then buffed with wire brush is the process I use. Any abrasive blasting produces poor plating - surface must be smooth and shiny as possible for best results. If it wasn't for the fact that I have several vehicles being restored, that I have control over quality, I don't loose any parts and I can redo parts very easily when the finish degrades I wouldn't DIY and would just pay a good commercial plater. The initial setup costs plus the cost of a regulated voltage power supplier gets quite a bit of professional plating done.

  9. 16 x 7 Superlites. 225/50 to match original rolling diameter on rear. 205's on the front as the larger tyre rubbed spring perches coilovers fitted since to fix that issue. zzzzed ........ trying to avoid the wrong attention these days!
  10. That would be me - 1973 240Z turbo'd. Live close to where you spotted me. Bodywork untouched since purchased in 2002 and probably looks reasonable at 20 metres. More mods to come and I'll bother posting when she gets stripped down this or next winter.

  15. That would have been me . Lucky enough to get out for a look Thursday, Friday and about to head out for Ironbank section today. Great event and soooo nice to get some miles on the Z after a long break.
  16. This is how I dealt with mine - Removed the welds that join the arms to the pivot rod and punched rods out. Local engineering shop machined rods back to an even diameter then bushed the mounts to suit. Rewelded. Was relatively cheap.

  18. Unable to use the block drain as the exhaust header blocks access. Can't feed by tapping between cylinders 5 and 6 on the manifold side either as inlet won't allow it. Outlet is going to thermo housing.
  19. Yes that's the original knock sensor position between the oil filter and the welch plug. From looking at a workshop manual, flow goes across the head towards the manifolds. I'm unsure what effect it would have on the surrounding cylinders if I pull water from there.
  20. Was planning to feed coolant to the turbo using a branch from the heater feed like the original SU manifold coolant route but getting 3/4" braided hose down to a 5"8 barb and -6AN looks nasty. Then noticed the unused thermistor fitting hole between cylinder 5 and 6 in the P90 head. Any opinions on using this as the turbo coolant feed?
