  1. At least $30k, take no less, better still put it up for online auction!.
  2. For $10k, you want a zed with how much rust?. Be prepared to pay at least double want you expect and some, and there in lies the problem, why would you spend thousands more on modifying a zed only to find it is worthless when it sells, keep it close to original, even a modded zed with L series is worth good money, IMHO an RB26 is way to snappy for a chassis like this, better off just buying a good GTR, will cost a whole lot less, this I do know.
  3. Try Stewart Wilkins at SW motorsport, Sydney (Windsor).

    L28 Good Deal?!

    About $4-500, sounds reasonable.
  5. Not here to lecture you so here goes, I successfully ran an L26 with the factory carbs, made a plenum up and ensured the float vents were tapped back into plenum , I ran some different needles and slightly heavier damper springs, an efi pump with a rising rate fuel reg, the engine ran very well. As for the carbs getting stuck at full throttle well thats not right, the throttle valves will close as normal and as the engine goes into vacuum, so do the pistons just ensure you run a BOV , wives tale. In fact SU used to make a carb for blow through apps. Having said all that If you can afford go inj.
  6. Make sure it is not a stick on wheel weight rubbing, get under there and look while you spin the wheel.
  7. Yes I am in Wollongong!.
  8. Jock's Turbo motor - YouTube.htmlPhotos of the motor.rtfd.zipSelling my L28 stroker turbo , converting car back to N/A . F54 block, 88mm SPS forged pistons 8:1 C:R, prepped L24 rods with ARP fasteners, Diesel crank with HD fasteners, Turbo oil pump, modified inlet manifold with 70mm TB, large fuel rail, P90 head with bigger exhaust valves Inlets 44mm exhaust 38, turbo grind cam, head flows very well. TO4e 0.7 comp housing( 100mm inlet) and T3 .82 turbine housing, high flow wheel for reduced back pressure, external waste gate, Large and neat front mount intercooler rated at 600HP, large Bosch injectors. Currently run by Autronic SMC and makes an easy 350hp on 1 bar boost, will handle much more. very sedate off throttle and extremely lineal in power delivery, Engine has less than 5000kms since built,I personally built engine and have been building L series and Japanese engines for many years, can be tested in car by arrangement. Will separate if genuine offers made , i.e. short block ect. Asking $ 10,000 negotiable, or if interested I can build any combination of engine to meet needs.

    88mm pistons

Interesting , In my 240z I have a stroker bottom end with prepped rods and 88mm forged pistons from SPS in Melb, also engine runs a custom P90 and a TO4e comp and .82 turbine, it has done probably less than 4000kms runs on Autronic management and goes very hard, I will sell engine for right price either complete or parted as I am returning car to N/A as it has way to much power for chassis. Interested?.
  10. You need a cam with more exhaust lift, and a little more exhaust duration, i.e. anything to help spin up the turbine and reduce back pressure from upstream of turbine , then the next bottle neck will be manifold , turbine and so on. Stock engine , then keep it stock.
  11. Depending on the intended duty of engine , if it sees occasional full throttle work and not of a very high C:R then you can sneak it a little thinner, if it is a HP big C:R engine not so and for me if it is a 1 bar or greater turbo engine that generates high cylinder pressure then stay as close to std as you can, I have seen many split blocks as a result, not nice.

    Spool Conrods

Chinese rods!, even if your HP required new rods , I would go for tried and "tested" rods, sure they might look the goods, but let someone else be the 1/1000 person that they let go on. As Peter said the stock rod is fine , I am using a prepped stock l24 in my turbo stroker for a very reliable 450hp.
  13. How much do you want for gasket?, is it a MLS style gasket?. Thanks.
  14. Try Steve Newing at EFI hardware, he used to made modded ones so chances are he has some std ones lying around.
  15. I think that Les has done a very good job at understanding his customers needs, and that is the key, talk to your customer and interperate their ideas, I don't think that the Americans think they are above it , just seems that the owner found someone he liked and trusted with his money, after all the USA has had a lot of experience with Zeds for many years , I just suspect that the people in the know have either dropped off or are hard to find, as for Rebello I suspect they are more after a different market and have dropped the ball on the L series and old Zeds to a degree, and Les , SWR, myself well we have stayed true to the L engine. Great work Les.
  16. John still services his Zed customers , only he has now moved in with Benton motors, a company who does bespoke work on Porsches, very nice outfit.
  17. I have a good used fuse box PM me if interested, also is your fuse box mounted behind console under radio ?.
  18. Hi Nat I would love a full set of frame rails , I like the idea that they can fit over originals as if old one are still good as in my car then they add extra strength , you only need to drill a few small holes in rails and pump fish oil into cavity to prevent rust either way if you make them to fit over existing then those who have to remove old due to rust will notice no difference , kind of covers all bases . either way if they fit nice I will get a pair from you . On a small note those doing the mod also need to brace behind the seat mount frames and tie it into the sill and the new frame rails to create a box section of chassis , that really helps control twisting of the sub floor .
