Standard manifold has been swapped for a header, everything else is stock. She has been in storage for a couple of years now and I don't think i will be able to give her the time to get her back on the road again. A new battery and a review of the engine loom would be needed to get her running again. Rust is in the usual places (hatch sill panel, dog legs, floor pans, battery tray). I also have numerous spare parts (hatch, bonnet, doors, door cards, original fender mirrors, headlight cover kit, seats, gearbox, spoiler + more) and would be happy to part with them all for an extra $1500 to the buyer of the car. Hey all, iv been reading though a few of the older posts about JDM badges on 240z, and have really confused myself now & need alittle clarification. What is the difference between a fairlady Z and a fairlady 240z (yrs of production & specifications etc)? Why im asking is I want a JDM look & am stocking up on badges. With the hatch I have read about a fairladyZ/Nissan combo & a fairlady(noZ)/240z combo, but cant find images or a clear explanation of what the differences mean. Cheers, Dan

Id heard that in SA fender mirrors are illegal. compliance with this would mean removal and plugging. Dont know how common fender mirrors on australian zeds are, but i would like to know as well. I dont have plugs but i have patches on both side that sit where the mirrors would have.

Indeed it is, but I would also need to have a 2+2 hatch handy I was hoping to find out if it would suit before buying one. This suggestion came from another zed owner, I just wanted some confirmation from you guys before I went ahead with the search for a wrecking 2+2. I thought somebody on here may have considered if not tried this repair before, could save alot of folding and time.

Hey, thought i might hijack this hatch thread as iv a similar question Below the glass of my 240z hatch is fair rusted and dented, could this section of hatch from a 2+2 be transplanted over?

Thanks for the pic Zedman, ill definitely have a go at replumbing when i have some time. and cheers for the advice Timwell, in the end i was advised to just replace the heater pipe with some heater hose as it served to do more than warm the carbs, something about condensation and flow...my neighbour lost me somewhere near the beginning of that explanation. Plus replacing with hose was alot simpler to do. Shes been on the road since last thursday

apparently the 8 fan/hub setup on mine came off a L26. I bought a secondhand fan blade that came off a 260z yesterday afternoon.

the plastic fan on my 240 has a slight crack in it, need abit of info about what replacement i should order. I have an 8 bladed fan, mounting points have a shallow offset from the front lip of the fan. I bought a secondhand fan from a 280zx, it was identical in size and shape but had the mounting points set deeper into the fan (making it protrude closer to the radiator). Would a 7 bladed plastic fan as found on a 72-73 Zed suit the hub? Ive found listings on thezstore & black dragon for these plastic fan blades, but are there any local places that might sell a suitable replacement? I really would like to keep the fan/hub setup as opposed to an electric fan

i was going to stick a bolt through the opening on the thermostat base, have a rubber stopper for the 3 way pipe on the other side (temporary) will look for an elbow to replace this...i could do with a photo on this point if you have one Zedman, need a tidy way to deal with the mount if i have a hose clamp in the way.

Hi guys, im on the brink of bringing the zed back on the road after a 10year retirement. Spent the last few months replace/recon F&R brakes, front suspension/steering, hoses & heater (and glovebox as I got a tad frustrated), plugs & leads. Final pressure test before I roll this lady out the driveway & we find that the heater pipe (round the back of the block) has sprung a leak. What I want to know is how many of you guys are still running this pipe? What is the purpose of running water through the SUs (heatup/cooldown)? If I should be replacing it what are my options?

Warren also came through for me as his other customer didnt want it, but I'm actually waiting to hear back from a local I met yesterday who may have something in his shed. Hey huw, i specified early '71 as there is a difference after 8/71, front and rear circuits are switched, pushrod depth changes & front and rear outlets are closer, meaning a change in booster assembly if I want to use a brake MC from a later zed & redoing the brake lines (not enough play & too brittle to muck around with).
