I had even called back before i went to confirm that it was for an early '71, because he hadnt asked for the year initially

Hey guys, Im looking for a new brake master cylinder, its for an early '71 (pre-september) model 240z. PBR number is JB1020. Having no luck with repco, sprint auto or car parts plus. Iv got a quote for getting it resleaved at $240! or i can order a new one from the states for $232USD. Anyone have a new one they can sell or know of a supplier that has them in stock?

Im goin ovr 2 get all the paperwork sorted this morn, so will go crazy with the camera. Iv got the haynes, the monroe & the humble books, needed instant gratification when I didnt have the car. Im a med student & uni for me has been alot more intense than my previous undergraduate degree, I miss the days where my uni life was 3-4 half days a week ...should have started back then. If im gonna be asking alot more technical how-to type questions should I start a new thread elsewhere?

Thanks guys, encouraging to hear that it can be done while studying. Now where the hell do i start?! Engine is coming out within the next couple weeks, battery will need replacing, tyres will need changing...what else should i consider after a car has been sitting as long as this? Dan

Thanks Lurch, yes it does look like it'll need some work before its on the road. Main priority is to get this car running well, body work that isn't urgent (unlike the hatch, not shown in the drive pictures) will be held off on until i finish uni and get a real job

Hey guys! Not zedless anymore bought a '71 240z for $6k lastnyt. Came up on drive.com.au yesterday & went 2 see it yesterday evening. Has been sitting 10yrs & isnt going, rust all over & a very large section is lifting around the lock on the hatch. Has 52000miles on a reconditioned engine, but will have to come out & be pulled apart before she runs.

Hi all & merry christmas! Arrived in melb this arvo for Xmas with the family. Maybe Ill find a little Xmas miracle while im here & poach a victorian 240 back across the border. If I dont gain a ton of steel while im here, I'll still go home with a kilo or two under the belt & cheery memories of time with the rellies & your soggy weather. For that kind of money what condition would a 240 be in? Would it be road worthy at least?

Hi again guys, i dont think im going to get anywhere soon with a budget of $7K. Im gonna break the piggy bank and increase the budget to $10K, do you guys think that this will be enough to find a decent (registered and mechanically sound, with minimal rust) 240Z within the next few months? If im spending alot more than i had originally budgeted, id really like to get the car i prefer (240) Im looking local (SA) and in VIC, as i want to be able to drive this home

Hi All, Another Zedhunter here, Im looking for a 2 seater in a 240z preferably but am definitely open to a 260z aswel. Happy with manual or auto (conversion may make for an interesting project ). Big must is a mechancally sound car, this will be a staged restore to be used as a daily when not out of commission. No structural rust, some body rust ok. Budget is $7k. Im in adelaide so a car in SA is perfect, but interstate isnt out of the question (needs to be driven home so all comes down to how sound the car is & rego/permits). Thanks for your help guys Dan

Thanks zedman, I like the sound of that, coz my thrice daily searches of carsales, drive & trading post are making me a little OCDish, maybe I should relax a little and see what may come. @maygz - no sharp objects will make the build very difficult, i dunno how you guys have managed @zzzzed - I said my hellos over there a few days ago. I saw that that forum wz based in adelaide which is awsum, I'll keep my eyes peeled for meets but I'll be the zedless horseman unless I find something before then

Hi ausZcar members, I'm an Adelaide boy hoping to get into Zeds, the search is going quite slowly as I'm looking for a 2 seater to use as a daily. Going to be selling my integra to fund the project, and im on a students budget ($7k to get the car). Yes I know its wishful thinking but hey you gotta dream right?
