  2. Hey guys, me again... I am trying hard to get my car on the road this week. You may have read that my car is backfiring and what not and I would love to have her ready for the meeting at the jag club this week. Will someone be willing to come to my place and tune the car up? I will be happy to throw some money your way or some beer or whatever else. I am in pakenham and it would be very much appreciated.
  3. Cheers dude, I adjusted the carbs mixture nut up and am having more success. She is still popping under idle, do you think it will even out after a while?
  4. It's through the exhaust. It may be rich. Is the adjustment all the way up or down on the su's for leaning it out?
  5. Finally ran it today. I forked out for a new battery and it had no problems starting! This was the first time I have run it with the new oil and plugs etc. I do have a back fire issue though. Not being familiar with non-efi can somebody direct me with what to look for. Is this a mixture issue? Or timing??? Oh, also picked up my new woodgrain gearknob, looks fantastic, just to let you know.
  6. Sorry, I had no problems either on my mac
  7. Sent across my $12.42 or there abouts
  8. I totally agree! Although, I could hire the car out to Tanning saloons....
  9. Also got the price for the vinyl wrap on the bonnet and thats going to be $350. So, damn..... Guess I have to pay it to get the result I want.
  10. Sound deadener in the rear of the car is not done, and the spare tyre is in too! Which marks the first car I have had in 6 years to feature a spare, talk about being on the up and up! I am going to put all the rear plastics and vinyls back in and then make up my false floor and spare wheel cover.
  11. I have the heatgun at the ready, but if I need a hand I will give you a call. Thanks Rev! Although, after seeing your car, I don't think I want you to see mine lol
  12. How do I get these damn things around the hatch strut mounts? I don't want to brake the things.
  13. Page 2 for me
  14. Absolutely gorgeous looking car. I love that colour
  15. I have an 044 left over from my last car, can I fit that in my 260z?
  16. Welcome! I have an Rb25 you could purchase lol
  17. My old man bought home a printed out copy of this about 8 years ago which was photocopied 100 times and distributed (He didn't know what email was back then lol). It never offended anybody at that point in time and still just as funny now.
  18. Mine took them a day. It was done by Blackwell Bodyworks in Pakenham and cost me $1500. They had to straighten the car out with the rack, do some cutting and welding and pull out the nose panel that the hinges mount to. They did a good job and I am happy with the result.
  19. Cheers guys! I am doing all the work myself bar the chasis straightening. I paid someone to do that. Lol. I guess the black would be hard to paint in a gloss, but this is just a satin made specially for engine bays and what not, you don't need a clear on it. It is a 2k though. The underside of my bonnet is mint, the top not so much, only because of the old rust and bog. I am covering it in vinyl though.
  20. When its on you can lol
  21. I ordered a big sheet of vinyl yesterday to cover my bonnet with. I am sure the company could provide you with some help. Its an automotive wrap vinyl made specifically for this kinda thing. Lasts 5-7 years. Contact Warren and tell him Photomotive (he will be away until Sunday week, 20th June) warren@xcesiv.com
  22. It is in a black tube and is about $20 from autobarn. Thats the stuff you want
  23. My Z is now in one piece more or less. Brakes work, headlights work, tail lights work, doors open and close. Its just in primer and satin black. So, I am now on the path to getting it roadworthy and registered. I will finish up my interior this weekend and hopefully I can take it on a test run to the meet next week. I am going to paint it once I move, so no need to stress about me leaving it in primer.
  24. Cheers mate, will do.
  25. I checked the workshop manual I have, but no luck. I made up new assembly looms so I can't match the wires to the old ones as I never had them.
