Gtv240z replied to Gtv240z's topic in Parts and Tools for Sale
Hi Jezza, Thanks for your inquiry , yes i have previously made up a kit but for you i would need to make up another. Unfortunately at this time of the year i think it is unlikely i would be able to get one to you until January . December is a very busy time of year for me at work and at home If you are desperate let me know and i will see what i can do , also what year is your 240z ? Thanks Craig 0410 643 209 -

Hi all, I am selling a Nissan R180 diff to suit Datsun 240z, 260z, 240k, 1600, 180B etc on EBay This diff is in excellent condition with no leaks or funny noises, it's nice and tight , painted up and ready to go. Currently still in my 240z and the only reason for selling is I have 3 diffs and 2 of this ratio and I need to get cashed up to buy other Zed parts. This is a rare and popular 4.11 ratio and a really nice ratio diff for acceleration, get the engine revs up into a better range and doesn't compromise top end speed. I previously had a 3.90 ratio diff the the zed and this small change to the 4.11 has made it a different car to drive! improvements would be even more noticeable when coming from a 3.54 or 3.70. This particular diff is not LSD but open centre , and yes the back cover says LSD but is only the cover from an LSD unit. This R180 is also the "K" series and has the larger 115mm crown wheel instead of the smaller 110mm crownwheel. please do your own research but I am reasonably confident a Subaru STI LSD could be swapped into this unit being the K 115mm inner diameter crownwheel. you would however need different spline shafts. Or use a Nismo centre for correct fitment/original shafts along with other aftermarket options. This diff has the Nissan Datsun standard 27 splines for the output shafts with the long bolt retainer, therefore standard fitment for 240z and 1600 and maybe some others. if you have the circlip clip in style axles i can remove the threaded retainers to suit that setup. I think that just about covers it , any questions call , txt or email Craig on 0410 643 209. Please contact me for a freight price , the $40 listed was all i could really do in this situation and will be correct for Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, etc , but probably wont be for Tasmania , WA, NT and some rural locations. Please contact before bidding for a freight price . Thanks for looking Cheers. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=131954515141#ht_560wt_1271

240Z Rear Wheel Cylinders Failing Consistently!
Gtv240z replied to Nickymac's topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
I don't know much about the brake fluid you are using but the original system is designed for dot 3 fluid . in many cases using dot 4 in a dot 3 system causes a lot of trouble . ruined master cylinders and brake pedal pressure drop are some of the symptoms. some oil suppliers , even my mobil oil supplier tells me dot 4 supersedes dot 3 but this is simply not the case. -

Sick of your useless Zed wiper motor?! Here is a pretty serious upgrade from a Honda Civic! If you are reading this you are likely well aware of swapping the original Zed wiper motor for a 1990s era Honda Civic wiper motor . If not check this link out for the details: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/6612-honda-civic-wiper-motor-replacement/ The wiper motor needs 3 new holes drilled , your bracket notched out slightly and a changeover relay wired in to ensure the wipers return to there home position. The spline on the honda motor is exactly the same as the zed one I disassemble, clean , check brushes and armature etc , reassemble and test before sending to the buyer. The wiper motor also comes with the factory socket fitted and the wiring harness that plugs in to it. Any questions let me know, Free postage Australia wide. I am also working on a kit that fits the Honda motor without the need to modifiy the mounting bracket in the Zed, it would also come pre-wired up with relay and plug straight into the factory zed harness AND fit correctly inside the plastic bag the original motor came out of . You would also get a new firewall rubber grommet. If any one is interested in this option please let me know . Price wise this option would probably be $250.. It would be 100% tested in my own 240z prior to dispatch.

Hi, Where did you get this one from?
-
Yes! thank you all for your input! looks like there are quite a few different options . I have had my gearbox in and out 3 times in the last 3 months, got it down to 43 minutes one way! Sadly i never bothered to pull the clutch off and find out what i currently have but would assume it's factory fitted 240z still...

Very interesting .. do you know the 2 part numbers?

Hi, Just wondering if Ican get some help from someone who knows more on the topic of flywheels. I want a flywheel for an L28 in the process of being built. I would prefer a lightened one but might go for a standard one remachined for less weight. I am running the 260z style CR gearbox. I am unsure if i have a 225mm or 240mm flywheel currently and assume 240mm is better and wondering can i use one? I am rebuilding a Z24 2.4 litre engine at work for a tow tug which appears very similar to the L engine. would a flywheel from a D21 navara with the Z24 engine fit an L28? the reason i ask is I can get these for about $25. and not sure if i will find a L flywheel in good condition at a good price. I might call Australian clutch service tomorrow and see if new ones exist.. Any insight greatly appreciated Cheers, Craig

I have one but want to leave it standard on my existing L24, what do you have and at what cost ? Thanks

I fixed one up yesterday and it was a bit resistant to get going and then was a bit unreliable. I adjusted the preload on the pendulum mechanism thingo and it has been going for a few days now, there are screws that adjust the shaft tension top and bottom. i loosened it off and it got going but the shaft was a bit wobbly so i tightened it up so it ran true. took a bit of fine tuning. i am still a bit sceptical it may stop again though...
