Steve, I just finished setting up the group page, it's address is http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/Auszcar But in all fairness, until Gavin and the other forum moderators say it's OK to go ahead, it will remain inactive, Im more than happy to be a moderator of that site and all you will be able to do there is become a member of the site and download technical data from the library, NO POSTING or uploading! If the moderators on this site are all cool with that then we can open it up to the general forum here. There would be an invitation sent out to all current members on this forum to join the site which would then allow you auto access. General surfers on the net wouldn't be able to access it. Hi All, John here, I was just thinking, considering it would be a good thing to have a library containing such things as an electronic copy of the manual I have supplied the first section of, along with other important doc's etc etc etc, would it be a better idea to actually start a Yahoo group that allows us to post 100G plus of files that club members can access? This way you would need to be a bonified member of this forum and be grantaed access by the moderators in the first place and here we could store all the technical data and files any member would want and could access at any time? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm Now only if we had a flux capacitor, we could stick it into Lurches car, send him back to the future, buy up all the Zeds back in the 80's, store them away, and then open the vault 25 years later and make a fortune !

Lurch Business rule, By spreading the number of cars available across the globe, we actually increase potential return in a market by realising the return potential on a vehicle that in its original market would have earnt far less. Globally this has the effect of raising mean value for the product while in its original home market the competition for a diminishing availability of the product (due to the said vehicless departure from said market) actually increases the products value due to the constraints of supply and demand. In other words the value of our remaining Zeds in Australia actually increases, based on the WA register of known Zeds in Australia, this would probably equate to a 1% increase in value, therefore the average Australian ZED valued @ lets say $5000 will rise to probably around $5050.00 when it leaves our shores. LOL

No wasnt going too, I want the trims stiched up in the same pattern as the original 260 trims and will be using a black wheel, the pic is just a basic idea of what I want to do, there will be differences, at the moment the car in the pic looks a bit over cooked, I'd rather it was toned down and incorporated black and tan similar to the balance BMW's have with their interiors.

I saw a late model Honda road bike a few weeks ago in this pearl red which had so much depth it looked spectacular, the probe I have at the moment used to be emerald green and I re-sprayed it in a recent Ferarri color called "Rubino Micalazotto" but it has nowhere near the vibrancy of the Honda road bike color. Im hoping this along with a full leather interior and dash along the lines of this pic I found will work well. Have a trimmer called Pat who owns and runs Sunshine motor trimmers who has won a lot of custom awards for his interiors who will be doing the re-trim, I used him 15+ years ago on a lot of the restoration work I did in my shop, his work is faultless. Your thoughts?

Ok just an update and a few pics to prove the process on Rose is underway. As Mick has posted, the old L20 is now cross border in S.A. awaiting its next ride transplant, here you can see my youngest Marcus who spent the Saturday helping remove the motor, these aint just show shots, this kid is so into the idea of this ride coming back to life that he really got into it, and copped a ring spanner in the head for his efforts at one stage..........lol Anyhow, the motor's out and I've managed to source some parts in the meanwhile, (X1) 40dcoe from California, and (X2) from Canada, all up, US$400,00 shipped and a manifold off Smurf on the forum. Also a front and rear set of screen moulds also form the U.S. paid US$10.50 for them but shipping due to the packaging size meant US$125.00 shipped. Now just need a set of door trims/cards and the inner sill/carpet garnishes and some other smaller odd's and ends, and the G-Nose of course. next Saturday, the strip down begins and by the following weekend should be on the rotisserie and ready for the soda blasters, there are going to be some cold weekends spent in the garage. Found a complete packaged rear bar including over-riders stored away in plastic wrap, been in the basement at Mom's for over 20 years, so may have them up for sale soon along with the spare rear screen mould set. OK, Here are some pics of what I have found so far, the kit would be along the lines of the "OEM" nose in the top left of the pic, the one on the right is an aftermarket. The guy we have in mind is a carbon fibre parts manufacturer, and would use my car as a template along with the nose I would buy from a US supplier. Since my car has never had structural repairs to any of the skirts rad support etc except for the RHF guard, I think we could get a very tight good fit. I can see these selling OS also regardless if the AU dollar goes up or down. Im going to do one for mine regardless and then sell off the imported one I purchase, guess we can see who wants one after that, the proof in the pudding will be hanging off the front of my car. Hi All, My brother-in-law and I met up at my mum's today and starting chewing the fat about whats happening with "Rose" (my car) and my plans for the old girl, well one thing led to another and I mentioned the "G-Nose" (fibre glass) kit from the states and how it was a pity that it was more or less a one piece job as oppossed to the multi part kit as originally supplied and the fact that its in glass rather than carbon. Well, happens he is in the aero industry and suggested if I got one we could probably get a cast made and have it reproduced in carbon as a multi piece kit. So the question is, before I go and spend thousands on one and getting this done, what would be the interest in this forum if a high quality multi piece carbon kit was available for say $1000 (no flares) Cheers John

Just a suggestion............ When I had my shop 20 years ago, my apprentice used to tell me about the custom projects they used to undertake at TAFE, a lot of which where private ppl who allowed the 3rd year apprentices, under supervision by the their teachers, do custom work as part of their assesments. The problem with panel shops is that a skilled beater can turn over a one day repair and earn the shop over a grand based on his labour, flares need a lot of attention and the shop managers cant see any value in putting a beater on it, plus the flare kits are usually way out and need a lot of TLC to get right, most of the time they dont meet the customers expectations once on and then the SH*T fight begins, Give a local TAFE college a call and ask to speak to the panel beating department teacher, you will probably find he will be very open minded about it.
