Peter If its soft it will never be any good, I dont believe adding some hardner to the surface will help either, best thing to do is either scrape it off, or if its just a thin finishing coat, use a rag and thinners this will wipe it off with some effort and make sure nothing is left in any small pin holes on the base filler you applied it too, not cleaning these areas out and applying over the top will most likely result in defects later down the track in your paintwork. Applying to much hardner causes a rapid reaction, minimal working time and also air bubles in the setting filler due to the reaction, if you want to get consistancy every time and dont do fill work often, grab a coffee cup, work out its volume to the tin you have purchased and then devide the total cups measured by the hardner supplied, then uses a syringe to add hardner by the number of cups you prep each time. Darren owns dent Maestro, and has 5 odd guys in vans servicing all of Melbourne they come to you, all are trained by him but if you can get Darren you are getting the best. We used to prep manufacturers cars before auction, I have seen him do an entire hailed car in a day with 50+ dents on it from the size of $0.05 pieces to golf ball sized dents and unless you knew where the dent was you would never spot it. As long as the paint isnt cracked and it is metal (no bog beneath it) you will be amazed what these guys can do.

Darren was the first paintless dent removal guy in Australia and the best I have ever seen, I helped him set himself up in business 15 years ago when I was with Fowles and then later Auto Group, this guy used to golf ball brand new cars in front of Ford Holden and Toyota management to show them just how big of a dent he could straighten out. Mike Always apply HAND wax's in a straight forward and back motion, then use a lambs wool mitt in light wide sweeping circular motions to remove it after the applied paste has dried off to form a powder skin. Applying wax in a circular motion will leave swirls which will be visible as the wax also cuts as its applied. And always remember, do not apply any waxes in direct sunlight or on panels that havnt been cleaned and dried or that are hot due to being in the sun, its a recipe for disaster.

No, I was sober, as where the many watching it, what intrigued me was the fact that the change in hues was so fluent no sequencing or flashing, what the camera caught was 1/5 what you could see happening as far as intensity, and the movement, well it seemed to race off away from the camera therefore the loss of light before returning back into scene and as you noted the light pole did give a point of reference later on which does show the object moving from left to right and back while losing altitude then climbing again. Look, it may be a hoax, but what bright spark would do something like this on Christmas eve of all nights? It's estimated that out galaxy contains a billion suns, and that the universe contains a billion galaxies, so if we are a 1 in a billion fluke and the same goes for the remaining billion galaxies, that would put the number of Earth like life supporting planets out there at 1 billion ! OK here is the link Very hard to see, but if you go to the 6 minute mark and watch from there on you will see the pin prick of light change colors and direction of movement a couple of times. Watching this on a large LED TV really shows it up unfortunately its hard to watch and see it constantly on the Youtube small screen footage.

TOTALLY OFF TOPIC AND OFF THE PLANET! 11.45pm this evening I was outside having a nail when I looked up and saw something unusual, I called my son to fetch his new telephoto DLSR camera and we too 10 minutes of video footage of a UFO flying over the Sydenham Taylors Lakes area, about 20 of our neighbors joined us and looked on as this ball of light flying erratically at times and at other hovering changed colors from solid red to orange to Green to purple, then disappearing to suddenly appear again in a blaze of color. This object did not have flashing lights, no sound so wasnt a chopper nor aircraft. Hope to be able to post it to Youtube soon. Has anyone else ever seen something like what I have described? John

I had an L20 which I sold to Mick zzzzed, he offloaded it to a guy in SA who has done a lot of work to it and really got the old rice cooker up and going. Ask Mick for the link to the guys thread and vid's think you may be suprised by what you can achieve with the L20 induction system Cheers John P.S. The L20 wasnt to bad once it spooled up but you really had to keep it at a certian range when driving to get any real joy out of it.

Al, There are a lot of circumstances behind this car that are far from being straight forward, some of which have been discussed with much emotion. Fact is that you are 100% correct when you say that there needs to be a level headed approach, unfortunately I doubt Kyle (God may he rest in peace) sees this current situation as being that way from his place in this universe. I'd like to make a suggestion to Lou, and I'm pretty sure that Lockie will see it as a fair one. Selling the car as is may not ever fulfil Kyle's intentions for it, and I know that many will feel the passion he had for it and want to see it finished as per his wishes, by the same token there are many members here who would probably love to own the finished car and cherish it for what it is and who it stood for. So if Lou was to be rational, why not let it be finished fittingly, then sell it to a worthy enthusiast, the proceeds of the sale could be donated to an organisation such as "Beyond Blue" in Kyle's name this would mean that the dream comes to finality and his legacy lives and serves in a new way for the many that have to deal with the effects of depression. Just a thought, but maybe a start for some common ground and a fitting end to this dilemma. I will be the first to put up my hand and offer what ever help I can to accomplish it. Cheers John

Lou I almost lost my 13 year old son last year, all the money in the world could never have compensated me for even a lock of his hair I have kept, his first toy I purchased him, or the soccer ball he kicked 2 goals with a day before he lapsed into a comma had he passed away. If you have any respect for him as a son, and his wishes, you will do the right thing and let the willing and able of this forum finish it as a legacy to his memory and let it become an inspiration to the generations of members to come of which I know my son will also one day be. This isn't a fitting end to Kyle's legacy, there is a lot of detail behind the circumstances of this car being listed, and using this thread to do so is TOTALLY disrespectful to his memory. I personally would suggest that tainting it with this advertisement and adding to it by us all in the form of posts only detracts from the thread that should have been left posthumously as a legacy to the build past and FUTURE ! Therefore could I suggest the mods remove the advertisement, this and previous posts, and lock the thread until such time that the car and Kyle's memory can be honored by its continuing build. My $0.02 worth.
