What do you want the belts for mtopxsecret6

Ive touched on this subject a couple of times before... I see them often for sale on Ebay, these people should be flogged...trying to palm garbage for a quick dollar to some unsuspecting and often misinformed people It is illegal to sell secondhand seat belts and stalks, most suppliers wont sell you new belts or stalks on their own they have to be a full kit / set........... don't be a pov pak.....buy new and please convert those ancient lap sash to inertia reel while your at it....be safe there are people depending on you...

Looking good Mate, time well spent........ With all that extra weight on one side, will this affect your engine mounts? Have you given any thought since youve Turbo'd, those pipes will get mighty HOT and stay hot for a long time and transfer a lot of heat to your newly designed manifold

You mention you use High Tensile bolts...and I dont mean the ones in the grab paks you buy from Repco, Autopro and the like.. I assume you mean 4.6 or 8.8 black, this number will be cast raised on the bolt head The stress and load force required to sheer either one of these bolts is.... ENORMOUS.... Buy either of the above, prefer the 8.8 , some flat faced hardened washers, check the OD of your mount holes for the correct sizing, ( they may be worn or oval with so many failures, if so re drill and go oversize) use Nyloc nuts and thread lock, you should have a minimum of three threads shy of the nut and torque to 59 to 78 NM and see how you go... NB: If you have any problems getting the bolts, drop me a PM

Good point, A thought........ The local Engineering shop or even your favourite Mechanic should be able to help out, its a minor job, should only cost a few dollars and take a short amount of time

Or, take some measurements and cut and shut the auto arm for the clearance you need...

Add Note: I would rub them back as far as you can After the initial sand use etch primer, then primer then spray putty to fill in the small gouges, works a treat, you need to sand between each coat My advice: don't mix product brands, K&H or Septone make mid range quality products of etch primer, primer, spray putty and paint and are very good for small jobs like your mirrors and trim bits etc, available in aerosol cans from Autobarn or the like. Don't forget to wipe over ( one way direction not back and forth ) with wax and grease remover before each coat of paint after sanding,( three or four coats for longevity ) if you want you can then spray the finished items with a protective coat of clear The key is to take your time with each step

Looks good There will be a bit of weight in that there setup.......what have you made them out of black steel?

A quick test to see if your head needs machining, brace / clamp it so it is level, wipe some bearing blue over the edges, get a sheet of 12" x 6" x 5mm thick glass,( or similar dimensions, offcut free from glazier ) cover it with a sheet of wet and dry and rub back and forth a few times, as you rub off the bearing blue this will show you if you have any issues.........
