  1. Impressive. The turbo looks off centre a bit. Are you still going to be able to get the same length pipes for the back three cylinders?
  2. Got my standard seats in the hallway, but no scales. I don't think they are very heavy though, I would be guessing ~15kg. (I better go quantify that)
  3. http://www.mittlerbros.com/punch__flares.htm
  4. Just a quick one on the holes in the sheet metal. The guy on Hybridz actually flared each hole, which means that he increased the stiffness of the standard sheet metal whilst still taking away weight.
  5. One other thing Scando. Vinidicare had mentioned that the KAAZ unit is rather noisy. I realise that your car is a race car and that it would rarely be going slowly (and noise from a diff would be least of your concerns), but was just wondering how you found it.
  6. Cheers, yeah I have talked with Vindicare about the LSD and CVs. Looks like I might just give the KAAZ a go. If it doesn't fit then might just have to look at custom stubs. From all the reading it seems like it is the right one, guess someone just has the measurements wrong. Will let you guys know.
  7. So, you are making two of everything aren't you?
  8. HA! Hopefully your wife is as understanding as mine. I have had a gearbox in our hallway, pulled it apart in the laundry, used my bath tub as a parts washer etc, etc.
  9. I am getting some mixed comments about the KAAZ unit. I had decided to buy the 240sx LSD unit SAN2655. Got a price from RMS motor parts which seemed reasonable. I was just about to purchase when I decided to check the diameter and spline count of the half shafts. I had thought that the Z r200s were 30mm diameter and 29 spline count. However RMS motor parts told me that the half shaft inputs for the SAN2655 are 32mm dia and 29 spline count. Now another thread saying that this centre works with 30mm diameter shafts. ARGHHH!
  10. Only thing stopping me is - Time - Money - Qld summers with no aircon
  11. They look even better in the lambo diamond stiching pattern, post that one mate. As for steering wheel, I have an original steering wheel at my place. I am sure you could get it retrimmed like the Compe wheel for a lot less then $600. Let me know if you want it.
  12. Another L28ET, and it's a 2+2 as well. What boost are you running? Have you got any pictures/build thread? I hear you about the gearbox issues. Mine is definitely on the way out and I am very easy on it. Luckily I got a Z32 gearbox in the halway though. Brad
  13. Where is the parking at the climbing part? Is it "Lower River Terrace"? I always parked up the top on River Terrace as I guess we always tied off our ropes there first.
  14. I like it, but perhaps I am a little biased. To be honest, I think yours looks great in the black engine bay, I am considering doing mine in a matt black since my engine bay is white. What paint did you use? Prime it first? My Previous owner did mine and didn't prepare it properly because now it is flaking off a bit.
  15. Actually what I need to do is go on a cruise with you so that you can take some beautiful photos of my 2+2. Purely for the reason so that you have something to test colours on. LOL.
  16. One major problem I see with your photoshops Shaun. THEY ARE OF A 2 SEATER! How are you going to see what it really looks like? But to be honest, Brian (1fastz) on hybridz has a orange 2+2 with ZG flares and it looks incredible. It is the one with his twincam head in it.
  17. I'm subscribed, looks very interesting. Will be good to have another Turbo Lseries in Queensland.
  18. Mind giving details. What are you upgrading too?
  19. I can't beleive that one of your mates is inviting a photographer to his bucks party. That man is game.
  20. This week and next week are pretty packed for me. Lots of commissioning the next couple of weeks. Let me know when it is though and might be able to make it.
  21. Forgot to mention. To do it legally, I will also have to get a mod plate. So add in the cost of getting it engineered, don't know how much that will cost. Brad
  22. Thanks everyone, appreciate the comments. Next will probably be a full retrim (done the dash and the seats), but that wont be for a while. These are actually cloth with a vinyl back. They came in 6-8. I think the australian delivered cars may have had leather on the entire seat. Well, I got these seats for $600 delivered from melbourne, bolts where only a couple of dollars, another $50-100 in consumables (sealer, paint, grinding discs etc), steel I got from my mate for free (wouldn't cost more then $10-20 from a metal wholesaler), and labour for me and my mate was free. Well, I did help him out removing a slab). So all up around $700 - $750. I got a bit impatient with the seats though. I have seen them come up every now and again for around the $400 mark, I even saw a pair of leather ones (Leather would have needed retrim, not torn, but worn) sell on ebay for $250. Was kicking myself I didn't buy them. I guess it all comes down to how long your willing to look for. Brad
  23. Guys, I finally got my RX7 Series 8 FD seats installed this weekend. Here is how they look. Since I just posted it on HybridZ and that ordeal has taken me a good hour to do, I am just going to link you to the thread for all the technical info of the build. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=1024950#post1024950 Cheers Brad
  24. That is one way to check, fill the piston dish with water and then poor into medicine glass, or vice versa to see if it matches NZeders 10cc.
  25. Wow, looks good mate. If you ever work out how to do the chrome, you could make quite a business out of this, and not just for Z badges. For the mean time, I vote black background, red writing, so that from afar it looks like it is a cutout.
