  1. You could do what I did and buy the repo ones off Ebay
  2. I have a set you can have for $50 if you want to come to Murray bridge to get them
  3. That's a red top scoot. They are a bit ordinary
  4. How can people say the rb20det is gutless. Fair enough they arnt as powerful as the bigger rb brothers. But compared to any stock l series I have ever driven. And I have driven a few. The rb20det would leave any of them for dead. The op is not after big power figures he just wants something that is einomical smooth and a little bit of fun. Sure he can make the l series faster but it will drink more fuel and won't be so smooth for a daily driver.
  5. Hmm I have the rb20det out of your car which I bought from Benny. The l28 that you have used to be mine. for what you want it for I think the rb20 is an good choice. It will be good on fuel and have just enough power to be fun to drive. They make just over 200 hp in stock form and with a with a few mods they can wake up quite well. I had one in a r32 skyline that suprised many a v8 commodore bogen. Plus they are a little stronger than the rb25 as they don't have the ring land issue. But saying all that I will be looking to upgrade to an rb25 in the future for a bit more fun
  6. Yeh that's an adelaidede members car Chris. He only posted that vid in his thred last night:)
  7. thats good to know
  8. well all the house moving has finished now so i have had a chance to get a decent start on the bus. Tonight i managed to get the engine, tomorrow i will get the dash out so chris can come pick the both up
  9. That is very true. But only if you can do the work your self. Or it Is the difference between being able to afford it or being broke.
  10. good work not long now
  11. I was using a rothenberg for stud pulled for years. But I recently purchased an eagle 2 which is a shit load better. You don't need studs as it welds te pulled its self to the panel. And once you have made the pull iu just twist and it's off. It's cut my repare time in half.
  12. yes it was the facelift model but australia is the only contry that calls them that
  13. The name it was just a australian marketing thing that stuck
  14. I wouldn't call them a heavy car at around 1250kg to 1300kg.one was also pretty good on fuel. Bit I agree with most every thing else that hase Bren said however I loved mine to bits. It was awesome to drive. Just expect a bog repare bill if you need to fix it. Get a a manual if you can the autos are a bit crappy
  15. I had a closer look at the heater outlet. It is not corroded but it is verry lose. How ever I can't pull it out. How at these usually inserted? Why would or be so loose?
  16. I'll pull it out I. The next day or two and let you know how bad it is
  17. not sure this is how you are ment to fix leaky heat heater outlets on engine blocks.. it is hell loose and there is no way it would hold pressure
  18. it is just rusted around the bolts It will only need a small patch oh and after 4 attempts to upload this vid. here it is
  19. I officially started work on chris's bus tonight. I have the motor ready to be lifted but first i need to drain the fluids once i hve finished the tear down i will start on the body work, starting from front to back. I am pleased to report that the passanger side floor pan is not as bad as chris thought and wont need replacing. however the chassis rail is a little squashed.. so i can either remove it and straghten it and then weld it back or i can replace it with a new one. Are the front section of 2+2 chassis rails the same as 2 seaters?
  20. I have driven an rx8 and in my opinion it was alot more underpowerd than I expected
