  1. Yep, that's exactly how my horn pad looked....before it fell completely apart. I actally talked to a guy who was looking at getting them made up. Reckoned it was too expensive...
  2. Always likes these cars. Good luck with the sale.
  3. I put a one wire alternator into my 260z. There is a writeup on hybridz how to do this. Ray
  4. Zed's are one of those cars you don't want to have to be in too much of a hurry to sell. If you need the money quickly, then you have to reduce it to a low enough price so people can't afford not to buy it If you set it at a reasonale price, someone will come along and get it eventually.
  5. Steve! I used to have the 'round top' carbies on my car. What a pile of junk! Or maybe it was the fact it was an smokey L28 with a craptacular 3 speed auto... With the round top carbies, in particular its the ones with the seperate float bowl you want. I'm not sure if they were a standard attachment or not, but mine had the float bowl integrated, and I was told these ones are no good! Ray
  6. Ok, I'll get the biggest hammer I can find...
  7. I just noticed that my rear left drum is seized (or at least stuck on really really firmly!!). Up on stands, I can't budge the wheel at all with my hands, nor was I able to get the drum off when whackin it with a mallet. It still turns when I drive though. I'm not sure exactly what caused it, possibly it could have been from when I was bleeding the rear brakes, I accidently left the rear RIGHT drum off the wheel. It wasn't until after I finished bleeding the rear LEFT that I noticed the drum was off on the rear RIGHT and put it back on. Would it be ok just to keep driving it around and eventually it will wear the shoe down and loosen itself up? Cheers Ray
  8. I would be be pretty stoked if you did have a wheel centre that was the right fit. It looks to be just under 10cm across. These things are pretty uncommon though, and not at all similar to the ones that most people use these days. Ray
  9. Huh, well there you go. Never would have thought that they would allow it!
  10. It wasn't red and pretty beat up at the time by any chance was it ?
  11. Problem is that I need to get mine through a roadworthy, and a horn on the dash wouldn't cut it I don't think :-P Easier just to bite the bullet and get another boss kit and wheel me thinks.
  12. You're not wrong maddos
  13. The only reson I did it the way I did is because to do it standard meant importing one from the states...
  14. The problem with these wheels is that they don't fit anything else. So you need a boss kit which fits only this type of wheel.
  15. In case anyone was interested, I visited the wrecker and pulled out an old commodore airbox and then paid a trip to autobarn and got some of that overpriced flexible air duct hose. I pretty much cut the whole inlet half of the airbox off (so the whole filter element is exposed), and mounted it down the bottom in front of the radiator. Then used that flexi air duct hose to hook it up to the AFM. Not sure how efficent the whole system isor isn't, but it certainly does the job, and the whole setup cost me about $40 !
  16. Yeah so for anyone who wants to know, turns out it was the wheel bearing. It was uncanny just how hard it was to hear it with the car up on stands, but when the car was on the road, it sounded like a wheel was going to come off. So if there is a bad sound coming from that area, and everything seems fine, there's still a chance it could be the wheel bearing....
  17. OK Just in case anyone was wondering, turns out these are pretty much impossible to get! The only way to get them is buy a second hand steering wheel with one already on it. Anyone want a really good condition formuling wheel/boss kit, minus the horn button ?
  18. I've been looking on google and no luck so far. I need to replace the centrepiece horn button on my formuling wheel. The wheel is in perfect condition and I don't want to replace it if I can avoid it. Anyone know a place in australia that may deal with these ? Cheers Ray
  19. Yeah that sounds fine mate. If you do have them just shoot me your mobile and I'll give you a call to arrange it. Ray
  20. How much would it be worth to you? I could pick it up if you are in brisbane. Cheers
  21. You know the rubber mounts that you bolt to the top of the strut and then bolt it up into the cabin. Yeah those. I only need one though, unless you had 240 ones, then I would need two (as they are a different size and I have a 260). Cheers PS, I'm in brisbane.
  22. I'd be interested in the boot between the Throttle body and the AFM.
  23. I would be intersted in going in, only really interested in the HP's though
  24. Just ruined mine. Anyone know where I can get them 2nd hand or for a reasonable price new ? Cheers Ray
  25. Yeah you're right of course. I'll take the strut assembly out and take it somewhere on monday.
