fairlady z competition car is gorgeous...im getting bad ideas

the underside of the car is very clean, was just gonna attack it with wax and re-do once a year. ive heard the sheets dull the colour a bit, willing to do that if it prevents stone chips. i found a place in ireland (in dublin) that regularly does this for prestigous cars, will email and ask questions and see where to go from there. if they are reasonable, ill just let them do it. thanks for your help hammer!

i wouldnt be upset about doing the whole car in it. ireland and datsuns do not a good friend make, this country used to send the old datsuns into dirt pretty quick. my dad has told me horror stories of his old 120Y, bought new, rusted before his eyes. id apply the film to bonnet, wings, under, absolutely everywhere. but the info ive read so far is that the sheets provided are for makes and years and brands of cars. is it possible just to buy a roll and a heat gun and stick / stretch it on in the shed at home...?

My last trip to the garage was supposed to involve applying a clear film over the car to protect from stone chips etc. as usual, my reliable man didnt get around to it. now, from what ive read, this film is computer cut so it will apply exactly to the vehicle in question, is there any datsun precedent? does it have to be scanned in? has anyone done this to their vehicle? or can you merely get a roll and apply yourself? link http://www.thedentdevils.com/ppf.html

still think its not retro enough. its clearly a 240z shape, but is it one for the modern world? even ford "angularised" the new gt40, and other retro production cars have looked more muscular. maybe its the paint job

also good, but i cant help but think that its a little sad with the droopy front intake. colour is a bit harsh too. the problem is crash safety regulations. you would never be allowed a car in mass numbers with the pointy end of the old s30 shape cars. how blunted is that orange and black yoke, do you have a side profile?

saw that before, its not bad. similar grill to gtr maybe? headlights a bit wobbly, but deffo a nice thing to look at!

@gav240z: ah no worries, i just thought since my search didnt reveal anything on this site id put up a post to raise awareness of them. ill prob go through ebay myself. but keep putting up australian links for yourselves. we must spread this information far and wide, for no Zed hed shall be without miniature automobile!

dont orget the manufacturers tried to bully clarkson too. the original topgear was a more sober affair, but it had JC. now, he destroyed vauxhall(general motors) or ford, i cant remember, and they refused to give cars to TG, then they had to allow after the bad publicity JC gave them regarding their protectionist attitude. anyway, rover tried to stop the TG boys from review their "citycar?" that was made in singapore i think and they just got a rental and filmed it by secret camera! same with the enzo, they borrowed one from a guy that got to buy it. but you can only get away with it if you have a large audience, and that needs charisma!

jaysus, the black and red fairlady is a bit rough regarding the paint job. see in the red grill it goes from red to white on the braces (i dont know what they are called) great pics, ,not what i expected rockyauto to look like, or their cars. i always thought that they would be a more prestigious kind of place than to have rusty datsuns everywhere. RB engines, if my L28 goes bang, im putting in a RB too!

i hope they dont ruin the franchise by sticking to the formula. i know franchise are meant to be run exactly to plan, but with the 3 most important elements missing, then they should diverge a bit. im sure in time, with ratings / confidence, then they will make it their own! any links as to where i can see it.. very curious
