  1. Well 1 G is 32.174 ft/sec² so google says. Is it good? Well it's a pass and that was all i was concerned about. The engineer said he didn't put a lot of pressure on them and they were not smoking. Master cylinder is a 15/16 280ZX. Just handy for people to know that this combination will pass engineering.
  2. Passed engineers and booked in for roadworthy 9am Friday.
  3. More than you can afford Pal, Ferrari (replica) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-260-Z-Ferrari-250-GTO-replica-/360636689910?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53f79f2df6
  4. Took a 302 V8 Cleveland Powered 2+2 Zed with R31 rears, proportioning valve and S12+8 Front Calipers on solid rotors and passed engineering pulling .93 G's stopping power with a .8 required for a pass. May be useful info for those going down a similar path. This was the fade test results.
  5. News from 2nd inspection, brake test passed with fitting a wilwood proportioning valve. Fade test passed with the final test measuring .93 g's. This was with solid rotors, Toyota S12+8 front calipers and the R31 rears. Only thing i missed on was ride height which is nearly sorted and i need to fabricate a cover for the above mentioned proportioning valve. Overall i couldn't be happier.
  6. Well i spoke to him just then and i threw a number at him and he met me a little more than half way. I think your comment Simon was the one that threw me to a quick resolution. Now to decide if i'll Take the good gear off him, put the original motor back in and sell him or repair. Just have to wait and see.
  7. At this point with the other Zed nearly ready for rego i'm wondering if i should bail out of the 2 seater and let them take the thing, i'm sure someone here would end up with the car. I don't feel like driving it much, perhaps it's time to move on.
  8. 2+ years on my V8 zed rebuild which was ready for the tip. Nothing that 1000+ hours wouldn't fix but after spending some time and doing 400+ kays the car is sooo tight, can say i have never been in a better driving Zed. The time spent reflects and for sure yours sounds like it needs some love. I do not think retirement would sound out as i am ready to move to the Sunshine Coast and see out the rest of my days. Cars get in your blood and stay there, forever.
  9. Sorry mate it sold almost as soon as i put it up, Damn trolls!
  10. I spend nearly ALL my time in the shed! I love to rework a classic!
  11. Dale has a least one. Can deliver. Donation of cider (blumers) would see him smile.
  12. You'll need to join a club, they all have different requirements for membership. Find one with like minded people or a variety of vehicles.. I would take it off the road until you retire and spend your saved bucks on all the parts you need to restore.
  13. He has a facebook page, i'll go find it and put a link here. Think it's Jap2U. http://www.facebook.com/#!/jap2u?fref=ts

  15. Yea the weld through primer will help keep the rust at bay. Seam sealer around the edges too. Good work.
  16. Hmmmm shiny! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-nissan-240z-260z-280-280zx-polished-differential-cover-R200-LSD-VLSD-S30-/140954465607?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222001%26algo%3DSIC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D11%26meid%3D6925088654349144798%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D1005%26rk%3D4%26sd%3D130785008500%26#ht_3283wt_2054
  17. The after market ones clip straight on with a plastic do-hickey that is all part of the plastic (yuk) ones. Will still get you by until another one shows up.
  18. Yes 55000 rpm. It's getting it's jet thing on. I think you mean 5500 rpm. You South Australians, really!
  19. Sounds perfect Mick, look forward to hearing from you. I'm Running a C4 Auto but don't have a tacho hooked up yet. Having said that the 302 has Extractors, 2.5 Inch System, Electronic Ignition, Redline Torker Manifold and Edelbrock 4 Barrel. The cleveland revs free and strong, i just had the tailshaft reworked and tested it for vibration but 170 was about as far as it would go. Running an R200. Yes i seen the conversion that fella in tassie had done. Would be better long term solution.
  20. Hey peoples, i topped out my V8 Zed at 170 Kph today with a 3.7 ratio. Wondering if somone has a lower ratio. Peter Mac suggested a 3.2 0r 3.3
  21. Plus an extra O for you. It's all related but sounds so regional vic, my brothers, sisters auntie did the trim on a couch that you found out the front of a wendouree address? That's every other week in Ballarat. Something you City Slickers wouldn't understand . Anyways, cue the pictures
  22. The guy out here near Haddon is Brilliant at straightening cars, he did Dales 240Z that the hill bit a chunk out of. Adding up the figures for me to fix it i come at $6825.
  23. Yea that was her companies assessor. I could fix the vehicle for that price, but someone else would not be able to. The fact that he laughed at me was an insult but i expected that. Would cost $1500 just to pull the vehicle back straight. Might be hard for me to get a quote from a local restoration shop as i have talked to these guys before and they only work on high end Muscle cars.
  24. just had the insurance assessor here and he offered me $5000 and the vehicle back. When he asked what do you think the car is worth i replied with $12500 and all i got was a pfffft!
