  1. Would be interested in more details of this.
  2. I'll be here !
  3. Thanks Guys ! Will check with the local Nissan dealer.
  4. Anyone know if the wheel nuts for alloy wheels are shorter/longer than the ones for steel wheels ? My car has the standard alloy wheels, but the spare is a steel wheel. I know with Mercedes that the nuts for the steel wheels are different, so didn't want to find out the hard way. Possibly not a problem with the rear wheels, but may be a problem with the calipers on the front.
  5. I would guess that Shannons are aware of the "problem" and hence what I think is a low estimate. If so, pity they could not be honest in their assessment of the car. Would be interesting to talk to them prior to the auction and see what they say about it.
  6. Dimitri. It wasn't until I was back in Sydney that I realised that one of them was siezed. By the way, the alternator seems to be working fine. Just need to sort the brakes so I can take it out again and check that it is charging fine. Craig
  7. I mentioned the K73 part Alan, so I thought that would be sufficient. I would think that all models would be the same however. I don't think the additional weight of a 2 + 2 would have made them install a different part no. Craig
  8. You calling the 260z horrible Gav ? My '74 260z has both the mechanical fuel pump and flat tops and they actually run quite well.
  9. This is just up the road from me, so if you need some additional photos, just let me know.
  10. Sounds good. Will send you a PM.
  11. Looking for a set of front calipers for a '74 260z. Existing left front is marked K73 (other side has a different marking but cannot recall what it is), so would like similar. Prefer something that came of a recently running car (otherwise I could just rebuild mine). Alternately, where can I find a piston and seal kit ? Seems that seal kits don't come with pistons any more.
  12. No hole. Just grips underneath as you suggest.
  13. Assuming it is the same as a 2 + 2, it should look like this
  14. Hopefully this will give you an idea, and here is a set for sale http://cgi.ebay.com.au/DATSUN-NISSAN-240Z-260Z-280Z-BATTERY-FRAME-TRAY-KIT-/150556707446?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item230de10a76#ht_1609wt_904

  17. Yep - starting to look good ! Thanks Alan. Photos of new interior.
  18. The location of the Datsun and Compliance plates in 1974 was the same on all the ones I have seen. In 1975, the Datsun plate changed to the left strut tower. Not sure where the compliance plate was located.
  19. Yeah, it's anyone's guess as to what it might have been. I will keep looking at it in various light conditions to see what it said. Might get lucky. None of the US decals on that page are like it.
  20. No. I have seen the same sort of decal on US cars. As mentioned, it has Nissan Motor Co at the bottom, and if you get the right light, you can faintly see three circles on the left running vertically with a large "E" and a smaller letter or number beside it.
  21. Would be interested to know if this fixes the clunk. I recently posted about a clunk and the consensus was that it was most likely uv joints.
  22. No - I have that as well. This one is on the strut tower
  23. Here is a better image. In addition to the standard plate posted by NZeder, there is also a silver foil decal, which is no longer readable, however I can see the outline of Nissan Motor Co at the bottom. No idea what this decal was for.
  24. My 260 2 + 2 compliance plate also states Auto
  25. Will give you a call tomorrow Alan. Going to the GM day at Penrith today, followed by a BBQ - now that the rain has stopped in Sydney !
