  1. I keep looking ! Someone will have one lying in a drawer somewhere - I just need to get them to open the drawer.
  2. Looking for a owners handbook. Mine got wet in the December downpour and doesn't loook too good - let alone being able to open the pages. If anyone also has a (blank) service book, that would be good as well as mine got wet as well.
  3. Location ?

The 3UZ-FE is perhaps a better motor, but wouldn't be allowed under the formula for a 240. Might be good for a 260 though. I think you could go up to 4.8lt for these.

Which would exclude a 350. That is 5.7lt. Makes my suggestion of the Lexus 4lt motor just about right, and they are a damn good motor.

  7. And maybe look at installing a flex disk rather than a univeral. At least that way the flex disk will let go and not transfer all the load.
  8. I think you need to register to view this
  9. Get one of these as well - 3M Clean'n'Strip wheel. This is like a huge circular scouring pad that you mount to an angle grinder. Light pressure, slow speed and keep it moving over the panel or you will heat up the steel too much and it will buckle. This method will get the panels back to bright shiney bare steel,
  10. Would appreciate it. Please PM me if you find one. Craig
  11. I am also after one if you have a second spare, or if anyone else has one gathering dust
  12. That's why they invented the telephone and the postal service !
  13. Do you want a 240z or a 260z 2 + 2 ? It is either one or the other. There was never a 2 + 2 240z. It is also very unlikely that you will get a 240 for the price you mention. You might get a 260 2 + 2 for that.
  14. Have you got a photo of one of the "nuts" ?
  15. Don't think so. It was only a bit of fun !
  16. What year is your car ? The "flying saucer" is the EGR valve, and was fitted AFTER November 1974.
  17. You're right ! I hadn't noticed that before, but then I have only looked at the car once since I bought it in Oct '06 and it's been in storage every since. However, I will be getting it out in a couple of weeks, so will make sure I give it some POR15. Thanks.
  18. I wouldn't beat yourself up about it - we all make stupid mistakes sometimes ! Sometimes the obvious is only obvious to others.
  19. I don't have access to a copy of the wiring diagram, but a lot of manufacturers wire them up so that both sides are on different fuses - reasoning being that is one fails, you still have the other one. You should have a legend in the fuse box to tell you which fuse it is, or the owners manual. However, it may be one or more faults, with the likely cause being a faulty earth. It does no harm whatsover to clean ALL the fuses. When was the last time you did that ? Never ? Most likely. I had a 1950's car that had spent all day in an auto electricians shop to fix just this problem. I had just bought the car and it was being sorted for the roadworthy, and the lights were all over the place - high beam/low beam - all different lights on and in the end they couldn't sort it. I spent an hour or so cleaning all the fuses and earth wires at the lights, and they have been perfect ever since. Yes, this would cause one headlight to be dim.
  20. Sounds like an earth problem to me. Try taking the fuses out of the fuse box and cleaning them up with emery cloth and replace the fuses at the same time. Also follow the circuit back from the headlight and see if there are any junctions that attach to terminals. If so, take those apart and clean them up.
  21. I would suggest you buy a new set from a dealer. They are not expensive, and I'm sure will cost pretty much the same to get someone to replace the rubber. You can buy them off eBay US for less than $50 a pair, plus freight. If rebuilding engine mounts, you need to be sure of the rubber hardness as this has (hopefully) been calculated by the factory to provide flex and stability to the complete drive train, so that's also worth considering if you go down the route of getting someone to vulcanise new rubber to the mounts.
  22. I don't know if these will help, but you may be able to spot something.
  23. 2 + 2 is longer than a coupe
  24. YMW ! Shit, that's not on the list - You're most welcome !
