I've just got a 280zx distributor e12-80 (i believe is the code on the module part) and am looking to hook it up on my Zed (71 240) the only problem was that i was doing some reading last night and i came accross an article which said the tacho will need to be swapped out if i do this? does anyone know if this is true? and/or whether there are any other solutions? I'd been told it was a fairly simple swap so...... Cheers Huw

Hey, I've just got my zed back and was testing my elctrics and everything works except the wiper motor, which draws a charge but doesn't turn...... so i took it apart and had a look at the cog & spindle/screw mechanism, put that in as straight as i could and cleaned it (left motor etc alone as I'm no electrician!). does anyone know whether i should bother with it or just source a new one? has it happened to anyone else? cheers huw

it's bloody awesome, just wish i could take it for a spin, but brakes bled yet so it would be amusing :-) might wake the neighbours to have another listen :twisted: mine are 6-2-1 if that makes sense, from HM in dandenong. you reckon my brother would mind if i borrowed his battery and some fuel??? :-)

Well my 71 240Z is now sitting in the garage waiting to head to Zworx for its last paint and panel fit. The engine is running beautifully (started it up today! bloody loud without pipes tho :-) ) Had a very stupid grin going when i heard it tho (disappeared when i was pushing it up the drive with the help of my lil' sister!!! who knew cars w/ engines were hard to push uphill!! the end is in sight!!!! after exams

would be interested in the seats as I only have a tatty blue set (interior was blue (ex-white z now blue exterior)) and it would save a full re-upholstory etc. Huw

it's nowhere near the right area but Rob down at Zworx (Mordialloc) is probably the best guy in melbourne for body work on a Z (he's done a wonderful job on mine), damn thorough and knows them backwards. Just my two cents. Huw 71 240, almost there.

dreaming of either of the two at the moment, turbo would be a lot of fun, had heard with the stroker that drivability goes a little up the creek, is this true? Costa's stroker is a beauty though. would be fun to build an all nissan/datsun turbo set up mind you. love the www.240z.id.au turbo setup. still, being only 20 any mod will kill my insurance :evil: Does anyone know about direct ignition?
