  1. By the way how come you have 2 oil breather hose / adapters on the rocker cover? What's the second 1 for?
  2. Awesome work mate car has really come a long way since it was first acquired by yourself. Always good to see a car revived like that.
  3. Joygasm TC-24 Head. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpbIAXjusyM (old school dyno)
  4. Yeah as Benny said that's how the forum looks without styling applied. If you see that the best thing to do is try pressing refresh (or more effective is a hard refresh Shift + F5). That will usually fix it, sometimes it happens if your connection is slow and the request for the CSS file is not properly made.
  5. Thought some of you guys might like to read this.. http://www.downshiftaus.com/?p=152
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6GzVCYqoyY But yeah it's usually poor form to start off here by advertising. Perhaps you could give members an idea of what 240z parts you have and be a sport?
  7. Very interesting Phantom Guy, I was looking at ways to import cars to Australia and sell them on for profit (as a business) but in light of your recent post it this seems like it won't be easily done. I do have a personal vehicle that I purchased here that I intend to import into Australia. After showing that I've owned it for at least 12 months and lived in Ireland for that time. However I can't see how I could import some of the cheap cars I see over here (Audi's, BMW's, Mercedes etc..) to Australia without significant expense so the idea is looking rather tattered now.
  8. So how many pre-orders do we need and how much money will it cost us?
  9. Any reason why you want turbo over a powerful N/A car? May I suggest this car? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,7809.0.html If you haven't driven a high power L-series like this, I would highly recommend it.
  10. As far as I'm concerned the RWC system in Victoria (I don't know about other states) has been far too lax for far too long. Let's say you buy a brand new car and after 15 years decide to sell it. Only after 15 years and change of ownership is a RWC required. In the UK and Ireland you need MOT or NCT respectively and this is done every 2 years regardless of ownership changes. So basically cars must be kept up to standard. This is why cars loose so much value over here, as soon as they hit 200,000km or more nobody wants them. It's rare to see cars on the road that are older than 1990 and most are 2000+ models. I honestly think it can only be a good thing to have stricter rules on RW vehicles in Australia. God knows it would have saved me lots of grief when I purchased my first 240z and 260z 2+2. The 260z had been in a major rear end accident causing a gap between the rear 1/4 panel and the rear floor / luggage area. As a result heaps of fantastic Z fumes poured in. It was so bad that after a couple of hours in the car my friends and I had sore eyes and a headache not to mention our clothes stunk of lead fumes. Lead toxicity has been linked with lower IQ's, hence the reason I may not be so smart haha. But seriously cars in poor condition are downright deadly and anything that makes it so that shit cars come off the road and good cars remain is a good thing. So when fixing up your Zed do it once and do it properly.

Awesome is this in Australia now?
  12. Clean 260z 2 seater in original paint and interior colours. Not many like this in restored condition left. If the car is as good as described it should make for an excellent car. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=9929855 Granted brown isn't the favorite colour of the day, it could look good with a good clean up.
  13. Nevermind I thought it might have been this: http://www.google.com/images?q=Nissan+Mid+4 But don't think so...
  14. Is it a Nissan? And is it a prototype that never made it to production?
  15. Yeah it's pretty funny. You can usually tell a spammer by the email address, the hostname (very rarely an Australian 1 like telstra, optus etc...), the country, the username (which rarely makes sense), the forum signature is always a link, they almost always enter a website (in the website field) etc.. I'm sure Sulio, Lurch and Steve will be able to spot them over time. I think most people just fill in forms on auto-pilot and miss the "Are you spam?" question haha.
  16. Steve, Lurch and Sulio should now all be able to delete accounts. I'm going to upgrade the forum software shortly and maybe look into some other alternatives to block these spammers.
  17. Hey guys, I would love to be there, but unfortunately that's not possible. However I think it could be a really good opportunity to get some early rotaries and zeds together. Would definitely make for some good photos and could get the attention of many websites that cater to early Japanese cars (i.e http://www.motormavens.com/, http://speedhunters.com/ etc..). Which in turn could give the club more exposure and it's for a good cause too!
  18. By the way DAZDA we get lots of spammers signing up regularly to the site posting links to all kinds of sites. You can usually tell a spammer because they have links in their signature to all kinds of sites. I appreciate anyone taking the time to recommend a business but as Craig has mentioned it's good to first establish who you are in the community and then your recommendation has a bit more authenticity to it. Don't worry about the Karma thing, it was really more of an experiment to see if it would add value to the community. At this stage the jury is till out on that 1. So what I'm saying is it might not remain a feature on the site forever. I gave you a +karma anyway hope it makes you feel better .
  19. Not at all, I'm a rotary man myself now FD RX-7. But I still love the L-series donk so don't worry my S30 will remain L-series. I think a 13B is the perfect powerplant for a 510 though brap brap.
  20. Here is Jester, a border collie cross with we think a blue healer or kelpie. But probably a blue. I've had her since I was 15 (now 28). So she's getting old, but still very fit. Definitely 1 of the things I miss most about being home. Here is Sprocket (named after a camshaft sprocket). My brother found her at Murrumbeena station wandering around and homeless as a kitten. As a result she has stunted growth and a heart murmur. Kind of a fussy cat, but she's my brothers pet. My step dad took these photos along with pictures of my 240z while I was away. How nice. The white patches are from a mechanic / spray painter who took his sweet ass time and still owes me a decent amount of money. I pulled the car out after being fed up with his BS. I figure the patches are go fast patches. I plan on rubbing the car back a bit - cleaning up some minor rust and then repainting it again anyway. Going to give the panel work a crack myself since finding good people is either difficult or very expensive.
  21. Only way to learn is to have a go I say, I deeply regret not having given it a go on my first 240z. You can only make it worse anyway . Honestly though by the time you finish you'll be an expert. So maybe buy a cheap old Corolla and practice on something like that first if you are worried. I'm surprised Rob is saying no to people. Guess he must be popular. Surprised he doesn't employ more people then? I think it's ok to repair section by section, just spray the car in primer until you are ready to do a full paint job. Nothing wrong with the dirty primer look, it's very project. See Stivva's car.
  22. Guys you crack me up. Spammer has been deleted along with all posts and IP address blocked.
  23. Where do I start. 1. Lately I've noticed more and more spam bots registering on the site. Every day I have to delete about 5 new accounts. I try to block their IP address too, but these spammers are clever in that they just use a different proxy server to appear as a different IP. I do find that certain IP addresses though have repeat offenders. 2. Thanks Nzeder for the suggested extensions. Unfortunately many of which are not that effective or make it harder to update the forum. I'll have a look and see what is available but many use CAPTCHA's that can easily be bypassed. Heck sometimes they actually pay "HUMANS" in places like India to spend all day circumventing these things. I put in a challenge question on registration for the site. The question is "Are you human?" Most of the time spammers don't change this value and I just delete the account. However I've seen several legitimate members sign up and get this question wrong. 3. These spammers simply want to post a link. It's their way of trying to influence search engines. Hit 10,000 different forums and they might show up under searches for Viagra and Penis and maybe if they are lucky Ben too! 4. Replying to spam posts does nothing other than help promote these posts. Best thing to do is use report to moderator link. 5. Yes I was asleep and I got several PM's. I'll review moderator rights in terms of deleting user accounts. 6. Yes it sucks! I hate wasting my team cleaning up this mess when I could be using that time for better things. 7. Craig unfortunately whilst I'd love to get my hands on these "sharp objects" myself, finding them would be rather difficult as their email address is often fake / spam to begin with. Their IP address is routed through several different places making determining their actual location a problem.
  24. Saw that on an Rx-7 forum. Kind of wish it was still a rotary though.
  25. That was like ice skating .
