  1. Just sent you an email with details of vehicle attached.
  2. Scott I may have a car for you, it's an L-series turbo. Well modified, bare metal respray. It's actually a Fairlady Z-L (S30, not HS30) and has the rally clock still in it etc.. It has been customised interior wise, but that's the cheap part to rectify. I'll try and send some details later tonight.
  3. Or they have customers looking for 240z's and willing to spend the big dollars on restoration and the shops need a supply of cars to work on. Some of these shops have been in the game since the late 80s and have accumulated cars and parts over many years. Before the boom in prices too! So don't be too hard on them. Next time, get in there like swimwear..
  4. Should have put a sports bet down then!
  5. I can somewhat understand the frustration, it used to be a once a month event to see a wanted ad. But now it's a weekly or even daily occurrence. Perhaps a wanted ad "Frequently Asked Questions" sticky post would help set some boundaries and give some tips / advice for would be S30Z owners? We have to remember at some point we were all looking for an S30Z or S130Z or Z31 (weird folks that lot ) and didn't have a good feel for the market. Also keep in mind that whilst there is a lot of spammy wanted ads on Gumtree, many folks who have posted wanted ads here have found their cars because other members would rather sell to someone interested, than put an ad out there and deal with all the time vampires etc.. So it works both ways, I think these posts would be a lot more useful if we knew who was asking to buy an S30Z. I know if I was to sell any of mine I'd want them to go to a home where they would be looked after and kept relatively original. Not bogged, flogged, flared and cheap plastic fender mirrored for the latest hipster look... So it helps to know more about the person buying it and how much of an enthusiast they are vs some blow in just going through the latest car faze..
  6. I find it hard to believe that people are so off put by LHD S30Z's? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/240z-260z-280z-Datsun-Nissan-SWB-2-Seater-Classic-Japanese-Sports-Car-2-8L-/252465618725 For $15k you can't go wrong really...provided minimal rust in the chassis.
  7. So anyone got a proposed solution? Or just like having a rant...
  8. It obviously left an impression on you . My friend is a camera man who loves digging out old footage. He recently bought out a bunch of Beta tapes with some old Bathurst footage amongst other motorsport footage from the early 80s. From time to time he sends me vintage car commercials he pulls off these tapes. I encourage him to upload them to Youtube.
  9. Lol can you imagine the reaction if that ad was used today? Feminazi's would lose their minds.
  10. Nice work making these. A much needed part.
  11. Mind sharing chassis ID I am keeping records of cars by chassis ID and photos.
  12. Which part? The wanted ad or the lack of detail?
  13. We got both kinds of 2 seater, rusty and rustier.. Which would you like?
  14. Would it help to have photos of a radiator support piece in place?
  15. It looks like the Aussies in the 240z won right. Video here. https://www.facebook.com/EnduranceRallyAssociationEra/videos/535399786649972/
  16. I say keep enjoying it as is, nice paint is good and all but then you're always worried about getting a stone chip or a scratch on it. At least this way it's useable, albeit not perfect but honest and something you can take out and just enjoy. It would be hard to find another in this shape.
  17. http://page15.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/t481442425 Current Starting Bid: 5,700,000 yen Buy It Now: 6,500,000 yen
  18. Sulio is around, he was looking to get another S30Z but the traitor found an SC 911 I think and is rebuilding it. He is importing a motor I think. Bought it as a shell off a friend who had an unfinished project.
  19. Well Agno's comment helped me look up p510psi's posts. I make a habit now of recording chassis IDs and photos of said cars for future reference. This is also why I don't delete classified ads. They have made the Early Girl Bingo thread much easier to compile.
  20. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/14719-for-sale-1973-datsun-240z-rb25det-melbourne/?do=findComment&comment=175265 http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/1562-p510psis-rb25det-240z-project/ First posted in 2008. and So it's the same car alright..
  21. Mark I'm not 100% sure it is Sulio's old car but for some reason I think it is. Sulio bought it off a friend who had pulled it apart and had it painted but lost interest and didn't put it back together. He bought it off him after pestering him with cash offers until he gave in and sold it. Can't recall what he paid for it now but Sulio put it back together and sold it on. I would estimate another 12k has to go into it to get it engineered and on the road.
  22. So anyone want an FD RX-7? I'm not 100% positive but I think Sulio owned this car at 1 point and it was pretty damn original too! http://www.viczcar.com/forum/gallery/album/50-2006-photos-another-z-in-the-garage/ He sold it to a guy named Nathan Chassis under Nathan's profile signature says. 73 Datsun 240z HS30-103638
  23. Money well spent then, I thought it was you and I was expecting you to tell me you saw an FD RX-7 and 944 heading in the other direction. But that's the good thing about buying a car someone else has done the hard work on, you can enjoy it immediately. You don't have to wait.
  24. Peter is it likely he had it out along the old Pacific Highway a couple of weekends ago on a Sunday afternoon? I saw a car like that when I was out that way coming back from the Gosford Museum.
  25. PM incoming.
