Brake Pipe Flaring Tool

Hi guys.

 

Im going to replace all the hard brake pipe lines on my project. There seems to be lots of different  brands and types at very dfifferent prices available, can anyone make a recommendation on  a tool that works well but is reasonably priced?

You will need to be able to do a double flare, Don't waist your time or money on this type of design, they cannot hold the pipe tight enough to be able to do the double bend on steel pipe, even though they may say they can do a double flare.

What you want is a type that has separate collars to be able to hold the pipe better. Something like this.

David that second link is the same as my eastwood brake flaring kit, I did all my lines with this tool. Give me a call if you want to have a chat about it.

Found where to buy it and is quite cheap, If I was looking at buying one I would buy this one, just make sure you get the right pipe size.

I guess it depends on what type of flares you want. Here in NZ all brake hard lines must have a double flare, and i would assume Australia would be the same. However there is no requirement on the type of flare ie 45degree, iso bubble or 37degree AN. I have installed AN dash 3 lines on the road 260z and I am doing the same on the track 260z very soon. I took my hard lines without the end but bent to shape to the supplier who had a good tool they installed the ends for me. However for the track car I might purchase a tool I have been looking at these mastercool items as they also sell the dies/blocks so you can get just about anything for the single hydraulic hand tool

I have been searching for an/jic double flaring tool I posted above the mastercool item then I found one from bakequip, this is like the Eastwood tool which I believe are all copies of the "Sykes Pickavant 270 series flaring tool kit".
