Poor old thing, be gentle with her....

I need everybodies thoughts

i'm going this outside colour, but then stuck with the wheel colour choice "The only colours they do now is Shadow Chrome and Bronze then Light silver

The flares, front bar and spoiler are going to be colour matched with the wheels centers, Not sure what to paint the front spoiler as yet, not a fan of body coloured

The shadow chrome might look funny on the flares etc, should i just make the flares a matching grey similar to the shadow chrome? or go the bronze option?

Grrrrrr

I reckon shadow chrome wheels or silver with black flares.

My cars also going to be the same colour with black flares and black wheels and I tried the grey flare idea and it looks crap imo. Was also going to go bronze wheels but in real life they look more gold and I dont reckon it suits orange at all. Have you considered maybe getting the wheels powder coated to suit? Also check out the new Rota rkr (WATANABE LOOKALIKES)

I'd go gunmetal for the car itself as I reckon thats the best colour for a 2+2 makes them look so much sleeker and disguises the roof hump better than bright colours. If you were in Melb I would of let you try my wheels and flares to get some ideas.

Good luck with the project.

I bet sleep will be difficult for you nowadays as it was for me when it comes to colour and wheel choice  ;D

I officially started work on chris's bus tonight. I have the motor ready to be lifted but first i need to drain the fluids

once i hve finished the tear down i will start on the body work, starting from front to back. I am pleased to report that the passanger side floor pan is not as bad as chris thought and wont need replacing. however the chassis rail is a little squashed.. so i can either remove it and straghten it and then weld it back or i can replace it with a new one. Are the front section of 2+2 chassis rails the same as 2 seaters?

Yes the front section of a 260z rail is the same up to the rear seat mount. 240z is slightly different as they are much shorter than the 260z 2 seaters rail. I found this out as I had all 3 models at the one time and remember looking at them.

So glad to hear its not a lost cause...

Glad its not as bad as my untrained eyes led me to believe, big round of applause to mick on taking on this project, he's da man.

not sure this is how you are ment to fix leaky heat heater outlets on engine blocks..  :o it is hell loose and there is no way it would hold pressure

I had a closer look at the heater outlet. It is not corroded but it is verry lose. How ever I can't pull it out. How at these usually inserted? Why would or be so loose?

I believe they are just a interference fit, wiggle/smack it side to side and it will come out.

That metal pipe is for the crankcase ventilation.. If it comes out easily, I used to make it just out of round with a hammer tap and tap it back in. Put a bit of sealant around it and it should be fine.

Always a good addition to any L series engine. Make an offer of around $1k and it should be yours.
