"Do NOT contact me offering services or anything of a commercial nature."

Someone call him offering a deal on window blind cleaning.

Well in that case I'm after a Z with all the engineering work comepleted for a V8 conversion, must be fully resprayed and re-upholstered in the colors and scheme that I want otherwise will not want it. Also must have the right wheels, sizes and tyres, not forgetting the brakes and suspension.

Willing to pay up to $100 for the right car.

Fingers crossed

Well he did say that he would accept some with rust which I thought was nice of him. :) I actually wouldn't be surprised if he landed one. There are some wrecks around that people can't get rid of. Bit of a cheek though!

not sure if it is the same guy but there is a fella just outa brisbane towards ipswich who is basically a small z wrecker. A little bit expensive but if u need something urgent its kinda handy. I got a 280zx gearbox and the parts for an auto to manual conversion a few years back. He had a couple of sheds full of panels, wheels radiators etc. And a few cars/bodies around the yard. He doesn't seem to have anything to do with the club up here though, you would think that would be a handy contact? i think he usually advertises through the trading post.

Found this while surfing just now' date=' do people really give things away for free?? I might try this to see if I can land myself a sucker that will give me a free car.

I heard of a one owner Datsun 1600 in pristine condition being sent off the the crusher, because the owner didn't think anyone would want such an old car.

Yes, people really are that stupid.

Nice to see such encouragement. Glad to see my free one-liner stimulated so much entertainment. Funny, I thought the add asked for rusty / damaged, whole or part cars.

Maybe if you looked again you might read it as "looking for unwanted remains". Some one else did and now I have a complete, albeit dented left rear quarter cut which WILL donate some essential rust free sheet metal.

A few others have kindly offered other cuts which I've declined at this stage due to interstate shipping costs.

I'll just go back to resurrecting a very sad 240Z. Have a nice day.

Ah you should have really got everyone going and said you scored a complete car from some old fella that just wanted it out of the garage. Now with that some jaws would have dropped. You do hear about that sort of thing happening on occasion and a member here did recently pick up a nice complete 240 in great nick for less than I could get a paint job for!

No, actually what is funny is the fact that you have been searching the net to see if anyone might comment on it and then as you have done defend your choice of method in aqcuiring parts.

I wasn't having a dig at you as such in the first post but instead at how stupid people must be to just give things away, but the fact that you feel the need to justify what you are doing shows to me that you have some guilt over your method.
