Can anyone identify this wiring loom?

Hi Guys,

 

I am trying to tidy up my under dash electrics.  There is this wiring loom that runs along the transmission tunnel on the drivers side horizontally.  One of the plugs went to the AC, but there is a bunch of black wires, some cut and all bundled together as shown.

 

This mess all unplugs at 2 plugs near the firewall which then goes to coloured wires.  Can I assume that this extension was all for the AC and get rid of it as I have ripped it out or does it have another purpose.  Haynes manual hasn't helped.  Could it be factory radio wires aswell as AC??

I have seen the same black wires on another early 260z (73 build date). However the 260z I know of is 1/2 assembled also but if I recall some of them trace back to the indicators so will be for the hazard switch.

yup, look at the loom, there is a plug on the end with a single looped green wire.

Unplug that and see if your indicators still work

 

If you are going to remove that sub loom, trace back the green loop to the base plug, mod the loom so you can use the plug and a little bit of wire.

I also remember reading somewhere that the same green loop plug wires are for a hazard switch, nfi on how to wire it though...

I think they're for the rear demister and hazard switch and power to the fan.

Thanks for the responses guys.  I have completely unplugged the loom and will see how it goes.  Easy enough to plug it back in if needed.

 

The rear demister doesn't work, the hazard switch seems to have been replaced with an aftermarket unit in a separate location and AC has been taken out. The only thing I may need are the indicators
