dat2kman Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Whitehorse Industries in Melbourne make the rim innets and outers for these, so fairly straight forward repair, for those based in mexicanland! Quote
bullzed Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Matt! Just wondering what's the go with all your parts! Any news on the BRE? Quote
PZG302 Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 Matt! Just wondering what's the go with all your parts! Any news on the BRE? Zac, The Bobtail is gone to a new home, but the bird bath is still available if you want to see what that looks like on the bum of a Zed. It certainly made mine look more aggresive, and it did work on the track, EC turn 1 was flat in top with it on, and a dab of the brakes and lift off into Turn 1 with the bob tail on the car. Quote
Zedback Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Matt, if you get anyone interested in reconstructing the shell I have the remains of a skinned 260z, the front cut of which should be usable as a donor... Mike Quote

Mike Would make it easy to get a track car together, Mick's front with rear half cut with cage from me. A skilled panel beater should be able to put this together, how many dodgy cut and shuts were done in the 70's and 80's? Quote
Patch Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 If either of you are looking at cutting up a shell, I am after a good complete roof. Quote
KatoKid Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Hi Matt. I'm in desperate need of the top section of the radiator support panel including the triangular gussets on each end where they join the apron. Also the front foot and a half of the RH front apron where the bonnet hinges bolt on. Bent bits OK as long as they aren't too rusty so if you do part out the shell please let me know. Thanks. If I didn't already havea plethora of project cars to keep me occupied beyond the grave I'd be taking a serious look at your shell. I reckon anyone brave and patient enough who has a flat concrete floor and a welder could unpick all the spot welds back far enough to where it's reasonably straight, do the same but in mirror image on the donor cut, and then with all the key points marked on the floor reassemble the jigsaw... David Sorry David, The radiator support panel copped the brunt of the impact and was badly damaged even before I had to cut it out to get the radiator and motor out. I'll try and get a pic of the front right corner for you. The car has run a FG bonnet with pins for a number of years so all the hinge assembly and brackets are long gone to save weight. Matt Quote
zed240au Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Simmons wheels arrived today thanks Heaps matt great wheels cant wait to see them on car have pulled damaged rim apart and sent outer to Whitehorse industries price to have new outer made was cheaper than local wheel repair guy want to try and fix outer Thanks Dat2kman for giving tip to Whitehorse industries Mick Quote
dat2kman Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Not a problem Mick, happy to help! Whitehorse make pretty well all the piece rims in Aus for quite a few "manufacturers"!! Now, someone pull their finger out and do a deal with matt for tne shell. We need to keep the dream alive, and get him into a prod sports race winner, the plan is laid! Quote
PZG302 Posted January 2, 2012 Author Posted January 2, 2012 Thanks to the members of the forum, the Zed will continue on in spirit across the eastern seaboard. The only bits left are one set of 18 inch wheels, my 2 spare L28's, 1 N42 head, a set of 133mm rods and the shell. The biggest hassle for me at the moment is the shell. If someone makes a good offer they maybe suprised. I don't want to cut it up yet as to do so will ruin the good bit that someone probably wants, so I would prefer to sell it whole. The roof is in good condition, as is the left rear quarter. The right rear quarter is useable, but has had a hit that was repaired. The inner guards are also modified for extra clearence. The rear panel is good as is the rear floor from the step back. The front of the floor around the footwells and transmission tunnel isn't great, it got tweaked in the hit. The firewall is also ordinary. The front....well the right inner and rail maybe useable. The cage is also useable, but will need to be cut out. If the shell is sold as a whole unit, the log book may also be sold with the shell to make it a much easier proposition to reshell with a cams compliant cage for track use. The sooner the shell is sold, the sooner the new project can get under way. Quote
PZG302 Posted March 10, 2012 Author Posted March 10, 2012 Engine and box went last year, have two L28s suitable for rebuild only if you are interested. Quote
