Riceburner Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Hey guys, while working on my car I managed to hit the left fender mirror and break the plastic base plate that the mirror stalk sits in. Does anyone have a spare I can buy, or know where to find them? Cheers, Gareth. Quote
Riceburner Posted June 21, 2011 Author Posted June 21, 2011 Anyone??? It's stuffed without it and the mirror can spin 360 degrees :'( Quote
mossy Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 You could probably try and get someone like Chris Woods to make another one out of aluminium. Quote

Riceburner Posted June 21, 2011 Author Posted June 21, 2011 Is it beyond repair? Try a good glue like Araldite or something.. Yep, it broke into about ten pieces and some of them I couldn't find as I was working on gravel driveway. Quote
gilltech Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 You'll be a bit lucky to find a replacement these days, but you never know! Meanwhile piece together all the bits you can find with the aim of making up a new one copied in fibreglass, & paint to suit. Quote
Riceburner Posted June 23, 2011 Author Posted June 23, 2011 I was thinking of cutting up an old plastic chopping board, it should be daily easy tho shape with a dremel, strong and slightly flexible.... Quote
RB30X Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I dont know what this is supposed to look like but if you could make it from a chopping board then I might have access to a better type of plastic material to suit. If you sent me a pic or dimensions I could let you know if it's possible. Cheers Quote

Riceburner Posted June 26, 2011 Author Posted June 26, 2011 How'd you go Gareth? Didn't get a chance yet. I'll post some pics up once I've got it off.... Hopefully tomorrow afternoon Quote
d3c0y Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 I've looked everywhere for these things as my finder mirrors came without them. I was even in Japan last week at a swap meet and there was a booth selling all sorts of OEM & reproduction gear for Zs and Skyline and came up with nothing. I was thinking of making a mould to make some - looks like i would only sell 2 sets though lol. Quote
