Agno Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 If you are choosing a new clutch, make sure it isn't a full face clutch like the last one you had. They aren't particularly fond of clutch kicks/dumps! Quote
. Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 The CVs are significantly lighter than the Unis (4Kg from memory). So the conversion reduces the vehicle weight and also has the added benefit of reducing unsprung weight. Quote
PZG302 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 If you are getting a Jim Berry clutch, just go with what he recommmends. If Jim says you don't need anything fancy, then you don't need anything fancy. I just one put into the S14 to do daily duties until the drivetrain is donated to the race car and it shuld should survive that pretty well. Quote

Jk_zeder Posted March 24, 2013 Author Posted March 24, 2013 Managed to get up to Jason's on Saturday and get an RB20DET box together for the conversion. On Sunday I got under their and had a look at mounting the box up. I used an OEM tranny mount that I pulled off the busted 'A' box and bolted it straight onto the RB box. Lo and behold the original mount was only 16mm off, so I managed to redrill the original brace which had plenty enough meat on it to mount it to the original tags in the tunnel. While it was up their I measured up a tailshaft and then pulled it all out. The box will be getting a complete freshin' up and most likely a 3" tailshaft will go in instead of cutting down the 280ZX shaft. Still waiting to hear back from Jim Berry about a clutch. Will get some pics up when it is all together. Quote
Jk_zeder Posted August 5, 2013 Author Posted August 5, 2013 Considering swaps/trades/sale for the 240.. Car just needs a driveshaft, which Id get done for the new owner. Time with work forfeits all ability to race and Id rather see this thing getting driven then sit in a shed. You can PM me for now. Im not going to put a price on it yet, will see what people come up with. Quote
Jk_zeder Posted August 5, 2013 Author Posted August 5, 2013 for a trade/swap Id like to see 25ish maybe. With full understanding of 'you dont get money back on race cars' it's a fresh build and a push button and go setup Keen for a nice daily again or any other toys people may have. Don't be scared Im open to a lot at the moment. Quote
Jk_zeder Posted August 5, 2013 Author Posted August 5, 2013 One thing I didnt mention is that I have the rb20 turbo box rebuilt. Still has 0 Ks on it. Quote
