COMPARE THE Z (240 or 260)

HEY THERE Z LOVERS!

 

MY COUSIN JUST PHONED ME UP, HE LIVES IN NSW, HE HAS JUST TURNED 18 AND WANTS THE GET A 240 OR 260. (DOESN'T EVERYBODY). NOW THIS IS ALL FINE AND DANDY EXCEPT THE KID IS 6'4 (2METERS TALL). SO I WAS JUST TRYING TO THINK OF A CAR THAT I COULD COMPARE THE SIZE TO TO GIVE HIM AN IDEA, OF COURSE I TOLD HIM TO FIND ONE AND GO SIT IN IT, (DUH). WOULDN'T SAY HES TOO BIG FOR THE CAR JUST, YEH TO LOOK BEFORE RUSHING IN THERE. ANY ADVICE GUYS?

In answer you your question, tell him to go sit in a 2+2 - I'm 6'4 & I fit in mine with no problems at all...

That's going to be the only way to find out how he likes it.

 

He might be pleasantly surprised. When they designed the car, they used anthropometric data collected from the US servicemen stationed in Japan to design the cockpit to fit all those tall Westerners.

 

They added 2 inches to the roof, much to the dismay of lead designer Matsuo's dismay!

 

Anyway, get him to sit in one

Also keep in mind that on alot of Zcars the seats have plastic spacers where they bolt to the floor. If he's too tall you can remove the seats and take out the spacers which give an extra inch or so for head room.

My old man's 6'6 and he fits in and drives my 240 fine.

and by the way....6'4 is not near 2 metres tall.

it's about 193cm.

I'm 6'1 and I fit in my 240 easy, heaps of leg room. The only thing I've had to do is redo the seat mounts lower to the floor because my helmet was hitting the roof. If he doesn't want to do track work in it then it won't be a problem.

 

My brother who is 6'6 has also sat in the car and he fitted just fine.

I'm 6'4 (193cm indeed) and I fit in mine just fine. I actually move my seat forwards a touch to get more leverage on the steering wheel at time.s

Hey Thanks for all the replies, Yes i know 2m is more than 6'4 was trying to find = < ~ < the wavey sybol than means approx. I didn't realize that alot of the z car owners could deck out a basket ball team (jokes).

 

I also told my cousin, that an LJ torana would be close to the same size or even a celica of the same era. I think he has decided he wants a 260z but is actually in USA till FEB. Playing Basket ball.
