  3. i would suggest for around $1000.00 get the body sand or bead blasting or go right back to bare metal and remove all parts and inspect thoughly dollars spent now will save pain and suffering later as every body else has said it looks like you stuck gold the more original the more the zed lovers will appreciate it that is from someone that modified his zed look forward to see the end result go to the nationals at Philip Island and do some brain picking from the owners of the cars you like i have found that they are all helpfull like Gavan said something that you think might be chunk could cost an arm or a leg seeing it is an early model Robert

  6. hi warrenz you used to be able to buy a plastic dip do not know if you can still buy it or clarke rubber may have tube rubber that would fit over it robert

  8. i have fitted them on the front of the condensor it is a twin thermo fans from a 84 honda accord they fit height and width of the condensor i used will give them a test tomorrow having trouble fitting my air pod but i will get a smaller one tomorrow robert
  9. hi all have after market air fitted to my car 1971 240z with 2.8 injected motor when it got hot the other day i turned on the air con and the temp went well over the 3/4 mark i then fitted a shroud it helped but not enough for me fitted twin thermo fans today would you remove the clutch fan or run with the both of them have hooked up the thermo fans to come on when the air con is turned on any help would be appreciated thank you robert
  10. i was 21 when i saw my first zed at a dealer along parramatta rd in Sydney I had to have it ,right or wrong she was mine,orange in colour. $4000.00 back in 1975 she cost me.she was only 2 years old but had to sell it after about six months due to insurance costs.What a blow.i couldn't afford my luv. it was like buying a $40,000 car today and paying $6,500 a year for insurance Then 3 year ago & 31 years l8tr i had the money and decided i had to have another one i paid $4500 for it and had to do a lot of work to her it is now phantom purple grey and purple velour interior recon dash 15" simmons 8" front and 9" rears 2.8lt fuel injected ems stinger computer xf 65 throttle body extractors 240k gearbox and diff after market air con see my aviator going on a rally with the club this week end robert
  11. hi all the zcar club sydney went to the slot car track in Waitara up near Hornsby for one of our outings we had a ball the cars we used were getting around in 8-9 seconds a lap 8 cars and 8 tracks we all had a go of each of the cars over a period of time we choice 1hr so you would get a good car then not so good and a better track over the 204 laps we did, it was down to only 1/2 a lap between first and second and third was not that far behind when we finished he demonstrated one of his car 4 seconds a lap he said the lap record was 1.86 seconds unreal time robert

  13. hi i was advised that the naps was a better inlet manifold for better air flow and i was able to get it at a good price and the 65ml throttle body fits nicely to it i am sending the car to the dyno next week hoping to a 10kw increase out of it i had 90kw at the wheels when i first put the motor in with about 2000klm on the clock just hoping to get the 100kw out of it robert
  14. help please i have just changed my inlet manifold,extractors and throttle body it had the 2.8l manifold 50ml throttle body and extractors ems stinger computer new one is the naps manifold 65m ford throttle body and stewart wilkins extractors still have the ems stinger computer my problem is that when i started the car after the change over it revs to about 4500 revs and would not drop back the revs tried the adjuster screw but did nothing to slow the revs down do you think i should disconnect the computer and that would reset the computer or is there something else i should do thank you robert

  16. yes i do have the car back from the auto electrics the air con runs great i have not had the time to measure what the tempurature is coming out from the vents but i do know its cold the system pricing evaporator /heater/defrosting pictured $950.00 delivered by australia post cod to sydney condensor cost paralell type $220.00 compressor cost $480.00 plumbing $300.00 and electrican cost $300.00 bracket for compressor $150.00 total cost $2400.00 even though this does sound a large amount you have to remember every part is brand new i will post more photos and temperatures later robert
  17. hi all have bought the aftermarket air con from vintage air compac2 model supplier in melbourne bought a sandon compressor and condensor locally fitted the evaporater box come heater and defroster unit for the inside of the car have posted some pictures now fitted in the car had to get a bracket made up for the compressor got a bracket from the 260z and a bracket was made from it made brackets for condensor at the moment my car is at the auto electrican getting the plumbing and electrics to the unit should have it back by wednesday will post more photos then have to tidy up underneath when i get it back evaporator1 out of vehicle evaporator9 left side evaporator10 right side

  21. hi all i am trying to find if there is an after market inlet manifold for a 2.8ltr l6 with efi that would give me a bit more power i am running 2.8 flat top pistons p90 small cam ems stinger computer and standard manifold with the 50 throttle body or is there a special type inlet manifold that i could use from some other motor setup thank you Robert

DID ANY BODY FROM THE SITE GO OVER TO BIRDWOOD SOUTH AUSTRALIAN FOR THE BAY TO BIRDWOOD RUN CARS WERE POST 1955 BUT HAD TO BE OLDER THAN 30 YEARS OLD THERE WERE 1.700 CARS IN THE RUN AND THEN OTHERS CARS THAT WERE NOT IN THE RUN I SAW 3 ZEDS AND THREE ROADSTERS AND A 180B SSS COUPE IT WAS RAINING ON THE DAY BUT IT WAS A VERY GOOD ARRAY OF CARS THE BIRDWOOD MILL MUSEUM HAS A 260Z IN IT I HAVE SOME PHOTOS IF ANYBODY INTERESTED WISH I HAD TAKEN MY CAR OVER THERE INSTEAD OF THE WIFES COROLLA ROB
