Stivva Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 HI Guys, I know I am always running into trouble. But I only have a list of 3 or 4 things for my roady and my heater has stopped working! I checked the fuses for the car. I must have knock something when I was changing the water lines under the dash. Is the blower controlled by cable or electrics? For turning it on that is? Where abouts is the wire for power if it is electric? Above the control panel or below where the radio sits? Could the problem be something else? Quote
Hunter Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 find two white plugs with wires attached that look like male and female... then push them together... also there is one single wire that should have a female connection on it, that should plug into a male under the dash.... just trace the wires running from your blower motor Hunter Quote

Why is there a male under your dash? What does he do all day? Does he complain when you plug him? If you pay extra can you get a female instead? I followed the wires - they went into the kitchen. Sorry all - I'm in a mood. Quote

Stivva Posted June 30, 2010 Author Posted June 30, 2010 Pulled the whole middle of the dash apart and she works again. Now the damn instrument and Parker lights don't. :$ Quote

Moderators Zedman240® Posted June 30, 2010 Moderators Posted June 30, 2010 Hehe Andrew... Just check if the fuse is still ok and the clips that hold it. Check there is no corrosion on the clips and make sure all the plugs are in tight. Quote
benny Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 lol simon there really must be nothing to do in romsey!!! Quote
Stivva Posted June 30, 2010 Author Posted June 30, 2010 Cant be bothered, gonna go to a sparky. I fix one thing and then breaks, its so annoying. And so close to getting Reg! I checked the fuses, all seem ok. Which is the fuse for this in a 76 2 seater? I don't have the cover, so I just check them all! I know the headlights are the the top two on the left hand side. Quote
maddos Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 from that description I'd be checking your light switch as they're all controlled from here but fused seperately. try working the lights off and and on a few times in case of dirty contact in your switch assembly. Or maybe lost an earth in there? Quote
Stivva Posted June 30, 2010 Author Posted June 30, 2010 And that could stop working just from the car being in the garage? Quote
Scoota G Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Sounds like an earth problem under the dash or on the body. Quote
maddos Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 More likely from someone pulling "the whole middle of the dash apart" Just remember all these light are switched ON by an EARTH (NEG) being supplied. So maybe you've disconnected/broken/pulled out an earth under there. You'd be suprised, if there's a bad connection, it can only be a matter of working the connection a bit to allow current to flow again. Quote
