Small patch of surface rust on front bumper. very minor surface rust under battery tray. Mechanical: Running an L26 with twin SU's. Car is used as a daily and has had a tune recently. Running well with no mechanical issues, apart from "needing" an electronic point distributor - currently running the old type found on early L26's, which is not particularly efficient. Registration: Registered in South Australia until 24 October Engineers Certificate: N/A Extra Info: Reasonably original, unrestored 1973 240z. 260z wheels, L26, mx5 seats and aftermarket steering wheel are only mods. Interior in good condition with 3 small cracks in the dash and 1 crack in the centre console. Body is in good condition and has extremely minimal rust. Great to restore or as a daily (current disposition). Selling due to new job needing a modern car that portrays a more professional image and cannot afford to keep the zed. C.A.R. Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Looks like a nice 240. Can you please post up some more detailed pics at your earliest convenience? And is it an Auto or Manual? Quote
cracker Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 First post edited - 5 speed manual - sorry. Will get interior and engine bay pics up asap, took these this afternoon after work and was getting too dark for interior etc Quote
cracker Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 Does it have matching numbers? Nope. You will be hard pressed to find a 240 with an L26 with matching numbers Quote
stevo_gj Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Selling due to new job needing a modern car that portrays a more professional image and cannot afford to keep the zed. what could be more professional than a nice classic red datsun? looks nice good luck with the sale Quote
zzzzed Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Nope. You will be hard pressed to find a 240 with an L26 with matching numbers the front number plate matches the back one Quote
620Z Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Nice looking Zed. Perfect opportunity for all those talkers to buy a good car at a reasonable price. Oh and know one get on this thread after it is sold and say damn, I would have bought that! Good luck with the sale. Quote
cracker Posted April 16, 2010 Author Posted April 16, 2010 what could be more professional than a nice classic red datsun? looks nice good luck with the sale I completely agree! Unfortunately, many potential clients will not Oh and the front and rear number plates match - cant believe i didn't mention it previously! Quote
cracker Posted April 16, 2010 Author Posted April 16, 2010 Interior and engine bay pics. Thanks for the comments too... Quote
Hammer Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Nope. You will be hard pressed to find a 240 with an L26 with matching numbers Opps Doh! My bad. I thought I read it as L24. Note to self "open eyes more". Quote
cracker Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 Price drop to $14,000 Car is now on carsales. Quote
cracker Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 Though it isnt hugely consequential - Included in the sale will be two dba 600 discs (for an intended rear brake conversion that never happened) a laminated wiring map and 4 manual/instructional books for the L series motor, restoring a Z car, improving and tuning an L series motor and a reproduction of a factory manual for the car. I didnt note this in my original post but considering someone may be considering the car as a daily - i have installed a pioneer head unit (plays mp3 CD's, no audio jack) and brand new sony xplod 6 inch speakers in the rear. By no means an elaborate setup but better than a radio and tape deck Quote
cracker Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 Registration expires 18 June this year and as a result I will drop the price to $13,500 until then, in the hope to avoid having to re-register the car. Given that 3 months rego is $180 odd I think this is reasonable Quote
cracker Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 Price drop to $13,000. No longer registered but will be registered prior to sale if the buyer wishes. Quote
