FOR THE RB30 PEOPLE

I know the RB30 sump doesn't fit your Zs', but it does on my C210 Skyline.Do the RB30 mounts match up to the L series or is there an adaptor required from CRS

Do you mean, do the RB30 engine mounts bolt into a 240/260/280 or do you mean does it bolt up to the gearbox used on L series engines?

They'd come close, but I doubt it'd be a 'neat' bolt up.

I know VL Commo mounts, can be used to fit a RB into a Zed, but they do need modifiying slightly.

I wouldnt bank on the CRS, RB Into 240Z mounts working in the C210 though.

I believe so, but I have been known to be occasionally wrong on the rare occasion.

Don't know if there the same on rb30 s, but when I put an rb20 in a 240z the mounts bolted up with only some extra holes drilled but, they left the engine sitting way to far forward. Had to make new mounts that made the engine sit further back.

Similar. But the steel mount on the engine looks shorter.

Engine mounts are way different. The C210/240k/Skyline mount has 2 bolts on the bottom - the zed just one. Here is come screen shots from the parts catalogues from each model showing the engine mounting for the L6 engines.

 

EDIT: Just added the later 240z mounts for those interested.

Good luck with the RB conversion.  You are ahead of the game with the correct sump  orientation!
